What is the size of ur RAM? What grade is ur pc in terms Iof processor type and speed? All this determine how ur pc functions with virtualization. It doesnt mayter if u use hper-v, virtual box or vmware. I run vmware workstation, v sphere, vcenter etc. I use a core I5 and 12gb ram on Windows 10.
The limit I ll advice is coreI3, 8gb ram

my 2 cents!

Plan to install windows server 10 times. and break it 10 times. Before you get to the 9th installation. You will already because above novice.

I started with Comptia A+ though, gives you all the basis you need before jumping into server configuration. Do you even know enough about desktop configuration and management? hmmmmm

Please I wan to delve into the world of servers. I heard you talk about comptia and the rest of em.

Please I need a professional advice on which branch to start my I.t journey.
I wouldn't mind making you my mentor

Pls am a novice in Microsoft and about to write MCSA in 2 months, already paid. I have a problem in establishing a lab, I Install Winsvr2012r2 using VirtualBox on my win10 i5 6GRAM Laptop but my system begins to slowdown after installing some of the server features/roles and other functions. I saw somewhere one can use VMware from MicrosoftTechnet, a better options for optimising CPU but after goggling it I get no idea on how its installation, is it that i will install Winsrv2012r2 from the scratch or just install the role or part i need on my window 10. PLS HELLLLLPPPPPPPPPP

Like I stated in the first post, I want to follow the server path. My question is if i can start off from the mcsa certification and still cope. I just want your(MS tech gurus) view on the right certification to kick start my IT Career from.

Thanks for attending to my questions. God bless.

Yes you can but its recommended to at least understand basic Networking and server. Thats where Comptia (Network and Server +) comes into play.

You can use the comptia books and videos to learn but focus on MCSA certification. IMO, i dont think the comptia exams hold any value anymore unless you want to start from 1st line but lots of 1st line support jobs now require some Microsoft server exams

I am just happy that I came across this thread cos I believe that with you and others on this thread, i will have a good guide and mentorship(hope that won't be asking for too much) as regards my IT Career.

Concerning the comptia(network and server), are the books, videos u can recommend for me. Also wouldn't mind if you can help with videos and books(soft copies) on comptia and mcsa sever, that would be if I am not asking for too much.

Thanks for your benevolence. I sincerely appreciate every effort you've put so far to put me on the right track. God bless!

Chairman what's up. Good to hear from you. AWS is really making waves a lot now. Alibaba cloud is another one I see some IT guys working on here.Looks like that's is also gaining market shares.

I should start learning AWS soon just to give me an idea but I am Pro Microsoft cheesy . At the same time I really dislike Hyper V. Used it in different places and it's is very fragile. It's not as robust as VMware in my own opinions.Migrating a VM on hyperv requires prayers sometimes and this is something you don't worry about on VMWare.

I am working more on Microsoft clouds services now. The whole IAAS and SAAS model is where the money is now and lots of companies migrating so it's a good time now.
