The Senate of University of Benin in a circular that went round the school earlier today has Rusticated the Student Union Government's President, Ogbidi Osemudiamen also known as Osemu.com for 1year, the PRO, Goodnews Ehiabhi for 2 years and some others of the Executive Council
In the circular, the Senate instructed that the Vice President, Frances Okogwu be made Acting president.
This news is still a shock to the entire students community of the university.

I beg to differ, the op is actually correct using the term rusticated, that has always been the term used at the university of benin to denote suspension. The word rustication is synonymous to suspension i.e He was rusticated for 3 semesters.

Not always though. Depending on the context in which it's used, rustication can mean either suspension or expulsion. However, in this context, it means suspension because a time duration was given.

Was the protest peaceful or not? That is the main question. Trump inauguration day was badly protested! What day can be greater that US president day inauguration? It is all wrong to hush down an opposition voice. They are elected body that has the mandate of the student. They have the right to protest anyday and anytime.

I remember that a day befor the protest they went to distrupt the opening ceremony of the convocation at the main auditorium, On the day of the protest, I approached osemu.com and told him protest shouldn't be the first resort but the last, he was being goaded by the PRO. they blocked the maingate, harassed the pro chancellor, prevented council members from attending the convocation, held the Benin Lagos express way to standstill and were dancing "one corner" the CSO, Dean of students, DVCs all begged them, to come and table their grievances before the VC so the convocation can go on, but they were adamant. they insisted the VC must come and meet them, he came , they said he should leave the main gate and come to the express way. it took the intervention of NANS before they approached the VC and the PRO continued being disrespectful, to the point that he told the VC that they are not his children, they cannot have a father like him, that the worst he could do was expel him. I was taken a back. this was the same PRO that his father knelt down to beg when he was initially suspended.
