All other parts of Nigeria agree that restructuring is the way forward except the North.

This means that the North is the biggest beneficiary of the current structure.

There is an angle in this whole issue that no one is really looking at.

The un-noticed angle is that all other parts of the country have the SAME INTEREST which is restructuring

It is therefore foolish for anyone to expect restructuring in any regime led by a Northerner.

If other regions are truly sincere about restructuring, they should team up as one in their voting pattern.

Just think of what the North would do if they don't taste power at the center for the next 20 years with no hope of ever getting there again!

The results: The North will be first to call for restructuring or even opt to break away.

BIAFRA and the other agitating republics, this is simply the formula that will make your self determination a reality. If not, it is only a dream that will become a nightmare.

And if this formula does not result into restructuring or the breaking of Nigeria, it will surely result into a better country because it will at least force everyone to the negotiating table. No one will dominate the other again.

Restructuring will greatly favour the north. The potentials are just enormous. The elites are too greedy for easy money to see it and the masses are too ignorant to embrace it. For those who know it's benefits, it's just too much hard work.

But it's inevitable. Either Nigeria shapes up, or she sinks. Too many unproductive units to make the Nigerian state sustainable. No part will not suffer the initial pains of adjustment in the early years. But I sincerely believe it is worth it

OP, you don't know the blood thirsty northerners.

If they lose power for a long time, the intensity of BH, Fulani herdsmen and other killer groups would increase. This time it will head south.

Don't you remember how SHARIA movement intensified during Obasanjo term in 1999? The political sharia, where they destroy alcohol drinks and yet go back and collect the largest cash from VAT on the product than the south where alcohol is not banned.

Yea, I understand.

But are you saying we should hands up as helpless slaves in their hands because of their brutality?

Such change in the power equation cannot happen without revolution

The formula I gave above is a saner, more civilized, cheaper and safer revolution.

How should the killings be bigger than what we are already seeing now.

The difference in my formula is that when they are carrying out their brutality, the government in power can tame them.

The idea of giving them power to appease them from killing has been proven by PMB administration that we are all wrong.

Great topic. But not everyone wants restructuring in the south and middle belt, if we do, it's enough to float a party and win.

If we all want restructuring, the south and middle belt have enough votes to shut Hausa and fulani out forever, and have a candidate that will deliver just that.

No matter how small, this is the kind of topics we should be weighing till we get
there.

How is restructuring going to favor the north? It doesn't matter anyway, they should be happy with what God gave them, land that is.

You forget something very important. The same restructuring you want the North to accept will make them lose power forever. So it makes more sense for them to lose power for 20 years under the current system than to lose power forever under a restructured Nigeria.

Another thing to remember is that the North has more voters, more states and more local governments than the South. Under the electoral law, one must win 2 thirds of the states. And where no one wins a 2 third majority, the two highest polling contenders will square in a run-off for a simple majority. If the North all decide to vote one person, they will ultimately win the Presidency.

Many Southern Nigerians dont yet realise that Nigeria has been rigged to favoir the North. Thats why the North controlls over 60% of the Nigerian legislature.

Obasanjo ruled Nigeria for 8 years, Jonathan for 6 in total , the south has ruled for 14
Yar'adua ruled for 2 years, Buhari for 3 years, the north has 5 years since the return to democracy.

One cannot become president without overwhelming support from the north.

You should be on facebook or instagram or one of those porn sites. You don't have the IQ to be here.

Wouldn't it then be to the North's advantage if they fete on their natural resources? Why is it that despite this claimed natural resources, they are the most resistant to self reliance? Lol.

When people think of the Niger Delta all they think of is crude oil, forgetting the ND has so much gas that it is among the top reservoir in the world. Not to talk of crude oil, arable land for food and cash crops, Palm oil and solid minerals.

Cry for me, Argentina.

Why haven't the present government tame them? Why didn't OBJ goverment tame them? As you have seen they got their political sharia.

The fastest way would be for the southern regions and may be middle belt.. to form their regional shadow governments at the same time.

At this point the north will have no choice than to ask for amicable way to solve the issues. They can't send the military to fight all the southern regions at the same time.

With huge landmass for agriculture, huge solid minerals potentials and tourism potential, restructuring has the potential of favouring the North. It just that the elites haven't yet or are unwilling to figure it out.

I agree with you, but they are looking at the free money they didn't work for and would for the land to lay waste while they enjoy from what's in other people's backyard.

The north knows restructuring won't pay their lazy, agriculture demands hard work.

STALE!!!

After Lagos, my region has the biggest breweries in the country...Not only that, we consume more than half of the products. Taxes and VAT contributions run into billions.

Nigerians in Diaspora sent more than $21 billion yearly since 2015...My region has more than 65% of that contribution.

As for feeding. How come you have more poverty and malnorishment than my region. Why haven't you fed your self?

Finally, how come my region wants restructuring even when we contribute nothing...but your region who feeds every region doesn't want it.

Potor dweller feeling funky grin. When will you stop running from your undeveloped, backward, red mud, erosion ravaged villages? cheesy

Restructuring will allow the north to look inwards and exploit her natural endowments i.e agriculture, mineral deposits, human capital etc., so you are highly mistaken. You can already see what is happening in agriculture and infrastructural development (railways, ports, roads, bridges etc.) and that will be catalysed once we are weaned off the black curse.

Meanwhile you in the SE will remain undeveloped, landlocked, backward, eroded and crime-ridden due to your greed and helplessness regarding the urge to abandon your lands to become economic parasites all over the place.

Worst of all, restructuring will not stop flat headed Osu drug trafficking pigs from being used as manure in Asian countries tongue.

You should be smarter than this. Nigeria exports yam, cassava, cashew etc. yet thousands go to sleep hungry in the south so you have no point. From meats, vegetables, grains to fruits; it is widely known that the North is the food producer of the country with the largest number of hardworking farmers, so it is delusional to call such a people parasites.

The reason you want restructuring is mainly because you want to escape from northern political and military dominance. That is it. Don't forget at a point your region wanted this same unitary structure when it thought it could dominate.

Your SE states are as much parasites as everyone else receiving allocation from the national purse (except the major oil producing states) because your parasitic 5 states would simply crash without crude oil money. What is your regional IGR? Do you know entire SE IGR is less than Kaduna and Kano alone? Where are your states in the feasibility index? Stop hiding behind the "south" to mask your parasitism, unproductivity and backwardness.
