He showed up in this match. He was made a 9 and the midfield spent all day defending. There's no magic that'd have made him had a better game. If that cross hadn't missed his chest, he'd have had a goal from one shot on target.

We went into this game with a defensive posture and it was the right call. If we didn't and James had tons of space to operate in, since we have a chronic inability to recover quickly, we'd all have gone to bed early.

What I still don't understand is Bale's role on the bench.

Bale is a very specific player.

He only thrives when the defense is well structured to be without two players (himself and CR7) and we need to run at the opposition.

Our defense has been sh*t this season and we knew Bayern will give us everything they got, so he didn't have a place in the starting 11.

I'm doubtful he'd start either of the next two games. He may come in when we have a comfortable lead or as a last ditch attempt to salvage a win.

I understand he's been useless in majority of our games but I disagree he was useless today

He went past a defender with nice touch and attempted nutmegging the goalkeeper, a little to the goalkeeper's left and it would've gone between his legs

He beat a defender on a counter but his final choice to pass to Ronaldo who was eventually offside while someone else was free on the left was wrong but understandable

He also added fresh legs and pressed the midfield while shielding Thiago from receiving passes

Navas was f##king nervous all through the game. Like wtf, he should have done better in trying to prevent that goal from kimmich.

On the other hand, he frustrated Oldman Ribery and made some fairly decent saves.

This year, we've knocked out Champions of France and Italy.
Let's add the German champions to the list and see how the final quest for 13th plays out.

I still prefer benzema and G.O.A.T partnership.

I prefer Asensio and Lucas playing from the flanks. Both give the team balance.

Benzema is a good player but he lacks fight. This present Benzema is too sluggish and dull for my liking. I like how CR7 was trying to recover the ball from Bayern. CR7 is a motivator.

The return is still wide open for both Bayern and real...but I am tipping Bayern to go through,that is if their players don't get injured.
