I have gotten into serious argument with many, tje lastest one is Buhari approved money for presidential jet.
I have tried all my best to say no, its for 12 super Tucano fighter jets, but they still wouldnt have any of it. Despitr telling them the US confirmed payment directly to their treasury account, they keep shouting is election money.

He already told you the US gave a deadline for payment. Why not make your findings to ascertain that from the US govt?

US deadline for payment shouldn't be and excuse to breach our laws , the US won't breach it's laws because another country gave it deadline so we should not

So are the planes here now to tackle Boko Haram? grin I hope you know the earliest delivery dates for those plane is October 2020 and by then Buhari would be long gone ...I hope you know there are already rumoursbmaking rounds not the entire over 400 million dollars was paid to the US... can you tell me why Buhari was in a hurry to illegally release funds for a plane who nearest delivery date is more than 2 years away which defeats your excuse that he did it it save lives from Boko Haram ( a Boko Haram Buhari even claims tibheva defeated )

I know is a waste of time quoting you bcuz you obviously have comprehension P.

But make I reset am for you. Bro this jet is world class limited fighting jet, it's not a product of produce and wait for customers to come buy plus it's not to product to be sold out to anybody. Many times have we gone to the makers Brazil and others to purchase but they refuse . It is only trump who saw pity on us and decided to sell out some to us which deadline was February. You don't know anything about the A 29 more than I do so just keep quiet , I will school you about that aircraft from airframe to avionics if you wake me up from sleep so take your ignorance away and fave the question ... Buhari said he is in hurry to defeat Boko Haram and that is why he made the illegal payment without recourse to or laws

Why in hurry to break Nigerian laws so you can defeat and enemy you already say is defeated ?

By 2020 when the first A29 will arrive we willl arrive Buhari will no longer be president so what's the hurry ?

Will the American ever break their laws to meet a deadline from another country? Hell No

Were our laws broken By Buhari or not ?

It all depends on the side of the divide one falls and the importance of what is at stake. US presidents have also breached their constitution in order to hasten some actions. Evidence abound on the net on several times Obama and recently Trump violated laws.

Super tucano jets cost $9-$14 million.

Meaning 12 jets priced at 14 million = $168 million.

Who's the uninformed one now?

What is the official unit cost of this aircraft, and how much did Buhari pay for the same?

$10m vs $41.3m

And he "rushed" to waste the country's resources without appropriation!

Not only should he be impeached, but should afterwards be tried and jailed.

what is worse is that we dont have the power to negotiate that they should reinvest a certain percentage of the money back in nigeria like we see other nations do. recently india bought rafale jet from france for billions but a clause was attached that a certain percentage must be reinvested back in india. win win situation if you ask me.

Dont come here and be straying the thought of people who dont know much about military hardwares. What do we need "F series" for? Are we at war with other developed nations of the world that we need air power supremacy? The Super Tucano is best suitable for our kinda security challenges right now. I dont have much time to use simple language to describe its super-special usefulness.

If this thing is for security purpose ,all hands must be on deck to enable the military do their works, rules can be bent where necessary..it depends on the exigency of the matter at stake..did Buhari approve money for his family members or for selfish reason? If no NASS must temper justice with mercy and warn the man to follow due process next time. The hue & cry must stop

The Pentagon has ordered six additional Embraer/Sierra Nevada Corporation A-29 Super Tucano light attack aircraft for the Afghan Air Force (AAF), Brazilian aircraft maker Embraer Defense & Security announced in an October 25 press release.

“Production of these six new aircraft is to start immediately in Jacksonville, Florida and brings to 26 the total number of aircraft provided to the Program,” the statement reads. The U.S. Air Force has spent a total of $427 million under its so-called Light Air Support/A-29 Afghanistan Program to supply the AAF with 20 A-29 aircraft by the end of 2018. Each Super Tucano cost around $18 million.

The press release did not state a delivery date for the new A-29 Super Tucano aircraft.

F35A jsf is one of the most modern jet fighter, it goes for 95 million dollars, what will it cost us to procure something like that and even if we intend to cut cost, why not go for F15 of F16? This plane will probably not be supported soon, that is spare parts will be obsolete and unobtainable yet one idiot is quoting me saying he doesn't understand why I can't be appreciative since Nigeria does not produce spoke

Is this not why Buhari called youths lazy? Even in thought, we are lazy! Always swallowing everything thrown at us hook line and sinker! Singing praises of government building bridges and road, something that is your basic right!

Nigerian youth! Rethink and start asking the right questions, it doesn't matter which political party holds sway! HOLD YOUR PUBLIC SERVANTS ACCOUNTABLE!!! angry angry angry

Yes we don't have the technology but we have the money to buy jets far more advanced than a tucano... Idi amin bought mig fighter jets when he was president of Uganda and I can tell you anywhere that they were far more advanced than this tucano that we are wasting money for. 1976.... This is 2018. Now do you see the difference.

No matter which part of the divide we are, the costs doesn't add up. $10m-$18m x 12 =$120m- $216m. Let's say another $100m is added for special capabilities and long term training pact. This amount is still a far cry from the over $400m it was ordered. Also, the Executives should have worked together with NASS to get the approval for it as I believe the decision to buy it was not made in a day. Lastly, Killings by Herdsmen is now more than that of the BH meaning they are more of security issue to Nigeria than BH now. Can the Tuscano coming in 2020 solve the present issues we have in killings in our food basket states?
