I see post like this and I wonder. There is no first world country that you immigrate too, that you won't succeed if you work hard and are ready to know what works. I am a graduate and used to work as a contract Staff in Shell portharcourt on a Salary of 400k a month, but I left for Canada in 2016. It wasn't rosy at first, especially getting a job in my area, so I decided to dump my career for a while and I started working as a security guard in late 2017.
I was able to get 2 jobs as a security guard and right now after paying my rent, car payments and other expenses I still save $4000 a month, but mind you I work 16 hours a day, though one of my jobs is just for me to go there and sleep. You have to know why you are here, and try not to be carried away. I am working as a security guard while studying and Saving to get into Harvard Extension School next year for my masters degree. Here you have to use what you can get to get what you want. So you can actually make it, just be very diligent and focused.

if it's easy, everybody will do it. An average Nigerian is a very religious person, so prayers and fasting is part of us. What I am saying is Canada is better than Nigeria in terms of opportunities even though I have not been there. I prefer a Canadian telling me u can't get this job, than to be discrimated against in my own country bcuz of tongue or religious view. But wait o, are u in Canada or Naija?

Some of you will not hear until you come here. The best advice I would give you is to first come on vacation before you decide to move here. I live in the US and it is not easy. I see lots of people with masters working as salesboys. I left a good job in Nigeria to pursue doctorate here. Despite the possible opportunities with that, I still question myself on whether I have made the right choice. Mind you I am doing well academically.
Moving abroad is not as easy as many of you think. However, there are some Nigerians doing fine here but if you have a decent life in Nigeria, I would advice you to stick to it and travel to your choice places for vacation. If Nigeria is really terrible as in very terrible for you as a person, you are welcome here.

You think it's easy to fall back when you make such move for permanent residence. Now just bent on getting citizenship and falling back. It's like those Nigerians littering UK and USA trying hard to make a living and you feel shy to ask them why they can't return.

Forget those tales. Most Nigerians never realise they are doing better here until they opt out.

Exactly.

When he comes back and one useless fapson lady falsely accuse him of rape so she can be popular, then he will know the difference.

One thing that OP refused to understand is the fact that most people relocate to Canada to have the future of their kids secured. Like you rightly pointed out, with Canadian education and job experience (Industrial training), it becomes easy for them to thrive. May be you should look at it from that angle too.

there are lots of opportunities in Nigeria
There is no place like. its just that most people love hitting the jackpot from a rest point without going out of their comfort zone to hustle.
U see a graduate, 5yrs after graduation, no job, no handwork, no skill just going and waiting for multi nationals to employ him. I know a graduate of engineering who makes a lot of money as a carpenter. he has never used his certificate for once. Yet he has worked for multinationals as a carpenter.
The best place to make ur money and enjoy ur money is in ur country where u are supposed to have full rights as a citizen.

And there lies the crux of the matter. Even after the lofty words, u aren't definite about ur rights as a citizen. There are no guarantees and that is a goddamned shame! The rights abuse is one major reason citizens actually bail.

Even someone on minimum wage doing dishes is paid about $14/hour, if rent is $1k working 10 hours a day for 10 days should sort that out. Like someone rightly pointed out earlier, all one needs is to understand how things work there before leaving.

Don’t mind the op, just trying to mislead people and discourage them to improve his own chances
