is olayinka better than isaac success, onyekuru, moses simon, samuel kalu? etebo's case is different to that of aluko because he is a part of the team already and rohr knows what he offers the team, also etebo is 22 while alukois approaching 30. ademola only trained with an assembled nigerian side which comprised of uk born nigerians years back and that doesn't put him on the mix.rohr personally approached him in german with a promise of picking him for the world cup but he declined. among those you mentioned its only ojo who have voiced his interest in playing fornigeria but was diplomatic about it. rohr have seen issac succes in close quarters but his fitness is was the major factor why he was left out after playing against senegal
forgiveness:

If Sone Aluko performs this season, I don't see the reason he should not be called.

So, if he shine pass Etebo in the Championship, Rohr will still ignore him and pick Etebo?

Nigeria never promised Ademola Lookman a place in the world cup. Ademola-lookman was part of team Nigeria one time. Rohr should show the same commitment he had towards those German boys by giving him a call or arranging a meeting with them.

Sheyi Ojo and Onomah are ready to play for Nigeria. Ask Komekn, he will tell you. I say we show commitment and see them commit to play for us.

Nigeria should not show commitment when dem turn Super star finish.

I agree with you on Dessers but we should still continue to encourage him and promise him to play for us once he impresses. That alone shows we care.

Who are those better quality players waiting on wings that are better than Peter Olayinka?

Peter Olayinka is versatile. He can play anywhere in the attack and that's makes him shoulder above his peers.

To be honest, Isaac Success will bench any player apart from Victor Moses anywhere on the wings in our current team in Russia. Fact

He should just remain in the La Liga and continue to improve.

Uche Agbo is good but will have to contend with Mikel Agu.

Of course, Peter Olayinka is better than Samuel Kalu and as par with Onyekuru.

Isaac Success and Moses Simon are better.

Where did you get your information from that Rohr promised to take Ademola Lookman to the world Cup?

Onomah too is ready to play for Nigeria. Ask Komekn who sees these players personally.

ademola lookman is viewed as those who will be the falcrum of the english team in no distant that so i doubt if he can be lured. he needs to be persuaded by not only the nff but his family to have a rethink. it can only be possible also if a white English boy springs up from nowhere with good performances to takethe attention of the english fa and press.
forgiveness:

That's the point.

I don't know how NFF scouts didn't take note of Ademola Lookman's when he was in the Nigerian team London.

Even our U17 coach was too blind not to see him as a gem.

They just abandoned that team including Ademola Lookman and went for their boys.

It was after the boy started becoming Super star that they reluctantly spoke with him.

I think if Rohr speaks with him, he will change his mind.

You have not answered my question.

If you can't provide evidence, then the information you are passing across is not credible.

You are likely speaking from your thought.

Alaba: I Would Have Loved To Play For Nigeria
June 11, 2018 1:17 pm

Bayern Munich of Germany and Austria international defender David has revealed exclusively to Complete Sports that he loves Nigeria and would have loved to play for the Super Eagles but for circumstances beyond his control.

Alaba, of Nigerian parentage, was born in Austria and capped at U-17 level by the European country when he was barely 15.
However he has not forgotten his Nigerian root as he went to the Super Eagles Pre-World Cup training camp in Bad Tatzmanndsdorf, Austria over the weekend to wish the Nigerian team well on their way to the World Cup in Russia.

“I love Nigeria and I would have been happy to play for the country. However, I was spotted by Austria at a very early age and I was guided to play for them. So it was not that I choose one [country] over the other,” he told Complete Sports.

Alaba, a six-time Austrian Footballer of the Year who also holds the record for being the youngest player to be capped by Austria, is a lover of Nigerian food and music with Wizkid being his favourite musician among many others.

The 25-year old was born to a Nigerian father from Ogere Remo in Ogun State and a Filipino mother.

a lot of great and decent players have joined epl teams from the championship. aston villa's Grealish, fulham's sessegnon etc are among those currently in the lips of most epl teams. dele alli and ademola lookman joined from the 3rd tier of english football. aussie legend cahil joined everton then from milwall and was an instant hit. the likes of john stone, jagielka, zaha joined everton and manchester united from championship clubs also just to mention a few

Grealish and sessegnon are still in the championship so no need to bring them up.

The other players you mentioned all have one thing in common they were all teenagers when they were bought by premier league club

and for the record, jagielka was a premier league player with Sheffield united though they got relegated but he never went down with them before moving to Everton and zaha got promoted with Crystal palace before playing for United

Cahill was an exception and this transfer happened 14years ago

Bro believe it or not transfers from championship to premier league is not always happening.

we all want Etebo in premier league and i hope it happens soon

Influential GQ Magazine Votes Super Eagles Jersey Best In Russia 2018
June 11, 2018 8:42 am

If the design and quality of a team’s jersey is an indication of how far it will go in a competition, then it will be safe to assume that Nigeria should bring the 2018 FIFA World Cup back home after top international magazine GQ voted the Super Eagles strip as the best of the 32 teams in Russia for the World Cup kicking off on June 14.

GQ, first published 87 years ago, is a New York based magazine which focuses on fashion, style, and culture for men, though articles on food, movies, fitness, sex, music, travel, sports, technology, and books are also featured.

In its ratings of all 32 teams, the magazine said of Nigeria’s second strip: “ Nigeria’s offering for the 2018 Cup is eccentric and off-the-wall in the best possible way. The heady mixture of cool green, white, and black evoke sensations of spearmint gum, while the blurred chevrons ooze cool. The bad news? It’s already sold out in the UK.”

The Super Eagles’ group D foes Croatia and Argentina come in second and third place while Peru and five-time World Cup winners Brazil make up the top five.

Africa’s four other representatives Egypt came in at 16th position, Tunisia were voted 24th best, Morocco 25th while Senegal were rated as the worst having come in at 32nd.

World Cup defending Champions and 2018 favourites Germany are rated 14th, two places behind France in 12th and a spot ahead of the Three Lions of England in 15th position.

GQ is published in Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Latin America, Mexico, Portugal, Romania, Russia, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, United Kingdom, and the United States.

It is the second time the Super Eagles World Cup home strip will be voted the best of the lot after influential UK-based
Mirror also gave it the nod last February
.
Meanwhile, in the battle of the brands, German kits manufacturing giants Adidas came tops having kitted 12 of the countries at the World Cup. Rivals Nike come closely in second place with 10 teams including Nigeria’s Super Eagles and Brazil while Puma will kit four teams.

American firm New Balance will provide equipment for Costa Rica and Panama, Italian Errea are kitting Iceland and England’s Umbro will kit Peru. Unisport are Tunisia’s providers while Hummel will kit Denmark.

Age should not be the determinate factor for merit and dismerit rather performance should be the unit measurement standard for accessing and choosing a player.

Why Rohr drop Aina for 30 years old Echiejile?

Why Rohr drop Agu for 30 years old Ogu?

Why Rohr drop Alampasu for 32 years and 29 years old Akpeyi and Ikechukwu Ezenwa?

Aluko is a bonafide member of the Super Eagles even before Etebo. Performance should be the measurement not bias double standard scale measurement.

aluko's time is over in the super eagles. i am a big fan of his and one of the reasons was among those who almost cried when keshi wasnt given him enough chance to prove himself but as for now aluko is a washed player. the coaching crew is trying to rebuild the team with younger players so the inclusion of an ineffective 29 year old will be taking 10 steps backwards in the rebuilding process

Aluko might not make the super eagles team.

Is aina good enough?

Is agu good enough?

Does alampasu plays first team football?

Now go and ask brazil coach why he is about to take a 35 years old daniel alves to the world cup if not because of injury danilo will be no where near that team.

Still ask brazil coach why did he take a 30 year old marcelo and a 33 year old filepe luis and drop a younger alex sandro of juventus.

Before you open your mouth to talk about age why dont you ask if the younger ones are good enough.

Echijile might be a bad player but if you think old aina is good enough because he was born in uk the you must be the biggest dreamer ever.

On Etebo's move, well, I have mixed feelings kinda. But I hope it turns out for the best. Yes, I'm tipping Etebo to be a hit at Stoke in the championship due to his playing style and physicality, but I feel he deserves better than the championship right now.

But then I am reminded of a very very talented Portuguese midfield jewel, Ruben Neves who joined Wolves in the championship from FC Porto because of a project and target they had to return to the EPL after many years and the risk paid off coz they complemented Neves' genius with other fine talents in Diogo Jota, Ivan Cavaleiro and co... (Ofcos they also offered him a good/decent pay package).

I hope Stoke does something similar now that they have An Etebo... They need to add a few more decent and cost-effective talents that can secure top 2 finish in the championship next season like Wolves did.

All the best to Etebo... Our 12-lunged power horse.

Wolves' Premier League ambitions are laid bare in new accounts that show the club has committed £67million on signing players since it was bought by Chinese owners Fosun in 2016.

The spending spree over the last two seasons has seen Wolves soar to the top of the Championship and hold its leadership position for the last five months.

The latest set of accounts from Wolverhampton Wanderers, filed at Companies House this week, show the club spent £32.5m on new players in the financial year to the end of May 2017, including £13m for Helder Costa and £7m, for Ivan Cavaleiro.

But, buried at the back of the 31-page document, the papers reveal that since the end 2016/17 the club has committed another £34.7m on new players. That figure is made up of around £20m on signing Ruben Neves, Roderick Miranda, Barry Douglas and Rafa Mir this season – plus a commitment of between £10m and £15m to buy loan star Diogo Jota this summer.

What the accounts reveal about Financial Fair Play fears
The accounts also show that net debt at the club has soared, from just £4.3m in 2016 to £23.8m by the end of May last year.

That is largely due to loans from parent group Fosun as it bankrolls Wolves' promotion ambitions. £6m is due to be repaid to Fosun this year and £21m by the end of May next year.

Wolves big spending and the £23.2m loss the club made in 2016-17 has raised fears over breaching football's Financial Fair Play regulations.

These cap Championship club losses at £39m over three season, but breaching the rules could result in the loss of points, transfer embargoes or fines.

In their strategic report in the accounts, the directors admit that the loss was due to the club's investment in the playing squad, "and therefore there is a risk in repsent of complyuing with the Profit and Sustainability regulations, where failure to meet the required thresholds can result in both financial and operational sanctions to the group".

As a result they are monitoring the situation "month on month", comparing their forecasts for financial performance against the regulations, "to ensure the directors can respond to any potential forecasted breaches to mitigage the risk of such sanctions".
