you have done what you know to do best..twist and manipulate. you mentioned Rohr assured Etebo a place in eagles that's why he rejected Bundesliga...now they reminded you about aluko and you twistig everything up and down

You should known what I am pin pointing to is selective selection of players to the national team regardless of where they play. That is my point.

It is not about rubbing the Championship. It is about the double standard that first made up to understand that players in top leagues are preferred above players in lower league but suddenly change mouth. That is the point.

Rohr: Uzoho Has Edge But No Final Decision On Super Eagles No.1
June 11, 2018 5:13 pm

Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr has stated that young goalkeeper Francis Uzoho has a little edge over his two other rivals for the goalkeeping position, but admitted that he is yet to make up his mind on who will be in goal for the team in Saturday’s Group D fixture against Croatia, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.

Youngster Francis Uzoho has started the Super Eagles’ last five games and and is seen by many as the successor to Carl Ikeme who will not be in Russia due to health concerns.

Ikechukwu Ezenwa was in goal in four of Nigeria’s World Cup qualifying games, while Daniel Akpeyi was involved in one.

But Rohr insisted the position is still up for grabs with the duo of Ezenwa and Akpeyi still hoping to dislodge the youngster.
“We have three good goalkeepers and the competition is open, although at the moment, Francis Uzoho has a little advantage,” Rohr told Argentine online news outlet Ole.com.ar .

“There’s a lot of pressure on him, but we’ll see him in the next few days of training.”
Nigeria’s opening game against the Croats will be at the Kaliningrad Stadium.

Akpeyi should just man the post.

My brother,I like being practical. We have to understand that football is being played for money.
If those Bundesliga clubs offered more money than Stoke, there's no way Firense and Etebo would have opted for Stoke city.

Truth is that their project enticed him and I'm very sure he is due a handsome bonus if Stoke regained promotion to the elite division, maybe 2-3 million large ones or even more, in addition to 30-50k P/W. I will be surprised if any Bundesliga club matched that offer.

Look at the guy on nairaland front page, Chikeluba Ofoedu. This was a poor looking street boy I met some years ago wearing okirika polo when a mutual friend introduced him to me as a footballer. I took interest in him and discovered he was a madly talented football player. When I heard he was signed by a Turkish 2nd division team, I was livid, because I knew he was good enough to play for a top champions league team, but today look at him, he can afford a N200M mansion and a Porsche for his mom. All these while not playing for a popular European team.
Make no mistake about it, it's all about the money and rightly so.

Na true talk you talk. Most African players will go for money rather than glory.

Nedville:

I slightly prefer this line up to the others because of two things

1) Croatia and Argentina are going to see more of the ball.
This is certainly bound to happen...our midfielders will look to try and nullify their efforts and block their final passes. However, Croatia will still have more ball possession
If we play just Mikel and ndidi, ndidi will be overworked as Mikel does not have the legs and energy to mark the Croatian midfielders when we don't have the ball. Ndidi will be forced to do a lot of work and he may be exposed...he can't be everywhere
With etebo in the field, ndidi will have support which he got from onazi during the qualifiers, while the workload for Mikel will be reduced

2) for the LCB, the only reason ogu makes it ahead of omeruo or awaziem is because of his height and his stronger left foot. Yes, he is slow but he brings balance to the back three on the left side. Had it been idowu was left footed, omeruo or awaziem would be a sure bet to start. But 2 right footed defenders on the left side of defence wouldn't strike a good balance there....so there we go

3) finally, moses does not make the team because he cannot be trusted...he suddenly feels like the neymar of Nigeria not knowing he is more of a raheem sterling... He does not strike me as a team player and would likely not contribute to defensive duties when things are getting tough..if he can change this, he is definitely a starter in the team, but if he keeps this up, he cannot be trusted and should be benched. He may then be good to unleash against the tired defenders later in the game.

I think it is better Mikel, Ndidi and Onazi continue to play together. I will remove Onazi if I want Iwobi to play behind the striker.

Moreover, I am still not convinced Ogu should be played on the left side of the 3 man defence because his positioning is very poor and he misplaces passes under pressure.

Finally, no coach in the world will bench his most innovative and offensive players in his team for lesser.

I say Victor Moses must play.
