Episode 30
“Alright mum, goodnight!” Daniel said, breathing a sigh of relief.
“Hmm… My little boy is all grown up.” Mrs. Macaulay smiled as she walked away.
“That was a close call,” Edwin said as he sat down on Daniel’s bed.
“So, what are we gonna do about him?” Clement asked pointing to Felix.
“Just pour a bucket of water on him, that will knock him back up.” Edwin smirked.
“And wet my room? No way, you guys should place him on the window while I get the water,” Daniel said walking into bathroom.
“I wonder how you two always find a way to get into trouble. Look at Felix now,” Clement said as he and Edwin dragged Felix to the window.
“Didn’t you tag along? Or am I controlling you?” Edwin smirked placing Felix in front of the window.
“Alright, move aside boys,” Daniel said as he poured the bucket of water on Felix’s face.
“What the… Who the… Where am I?” Felix said, looking around the room.
“Good morning sunshine! Sorry for the break in transmission, someone apparently knocked you out.” Edwin grinned.
“Why won’t I knock someone out, when some people were trying to scare me to death.” Daniel yelled.
“No, we weren’t trying to that,” Felix said as he got to his feet.
“Then why did you guys sneak into my room when it’s already 10pm? And I want the truth,” Daniel said, folding his arms.
“Well, the truth is…” Edwin said gazing at Clement and Felix.
“WE MISSED YOU!” They chorused as they rushed to hug him.
“Let’s not leave each other again,” Felix added.
“Woah! Wait, no hugging. Especially from you Felix,” Daniel said as he jump onto his bed.
“But… Why? Aren’t we…” Felix said but was cut short when the door suddenly flung open revealing Daniel’s sisters, Jenny and Jessy.
“Argh! The evil sisters are here! Hide me.” Felix panicked as hid behind the curtain.
“Yes! I knew that they were here. Mum! Daniel’s friends sneaked into the house and they are trying to force Daniel to go to a party!” Jenny screamed.
“What!? Mrs. Macaulay screamed from the living room.
“Jenny?” Daniel asked, looking puzzled.
“What? You shouldn’t have let them in.” Jenny smirked.
“Daniel Macaulay! You and your friends should get down here right now!” Mrs. Macaulay screamed from the living room.
“Argh! You guys better come up with a good excuse, and Felix, stop being an idiot and get away from my curtain.” Daniel rolled an eye.
“Don’t worry Danny boy, I’ve got this.” Edwin smirked.

Episode 31
Earlier that day at the Williams’s residence *
Susan: Dad, let me understand you well. You mean a man we’ve never met, walked into this house and told you that you have been appointed as the personal assistant to the Senate President of Nigeria? I mean THE SENATE PRESIDENT OF NIGERIA!? (Looking shocked).
Mr. Williams: Yes, that’s pretty much what he said.
Theresa: But dad, how are we sure this isn’t a prank? We’re talking about the Senate President not just an ordinary Citizen.
Mr. Williams: Believe me, I know. I’m also as shocked as you all are.
Mrs. Williams: And is the appointment letter authentic? Do you know if it is?
Mr. Williams: It seems so. I don’t think anyone is capable of forging this kind of letter.
Mrs. Williams: You can’t be too sure, Leonard, this world is filled with evil people who are capable of anything.
Susan: Let me take a look at the letter, Dad.
Mr. Williams: Here it is (gives her the letter).
Susan: (scans through it) Well, from the look of it, I think it isn’t fake.
Mrs. Williams: Are you sure, Susan? People can easily forge stuffs like that.
Susan: I’m not 100% sure but it seems more real than fake.
Theresa: Hmm… So Dad, what are you gonna do? Are you gonna take the job?
Mr. Williams: Well… It…doesn’t look like a bad idea if I did. I…
Mrs. Williams: No, Leonard, don’t accept the job. We still haven’t found out how this offer came about and I’m not comfortable with the whole thing.
Susan: Well, Mum is right. We still don’t know how this offer came about and until we know the source of it, I think Dad shouldn’t take the offer.
Mr. Williams: Well… You both are right but I forgot to mention the second thing he told me.
Susan, Theresa & Mrs. Williams: Which is?
Mr. Williams: He said the Senate President is inviting me and my entire family to their Christmas party.
Susan, Theresa & Mrs. Williams: Huh? Christmas party?
Mr. Williams: Yes. It will hold on the 25th of this month, which is Christmas day.
Theresa: So, are we gonna attend? (Smiling while rubbing her palms).
Mr. Williams: Of course, we have to. If not for anything, at least to know the authenticity of this offer.
Mrs. Williams: I don’t like this one bit. How are we sure this isn’t another prank?
Mr. Williams: The man gave me an invitation card, and I know for a certain that this particular one is real (gives them the card).
Mrs. Williams: Oh my God, it’s real (looking shocked).
Susan: We…have…been…invited…to…the…Senate…President’s…party (looking shocked).
Theresa: Yay! We’re going to the Senate President’s party (gets up and starts dancing).
Mrs. Williams: But I don’t understand, why is all this happening to us?
Mr. Williams: I believe it’s the Lord’s doing. Now I understand what people mean when they say ‘God works in mysterious ways’.
Mrs. Williams: (breaks down and start shedding tears of joy) Thank you God! Thank you Jesus! I knew you would never forsake us. All glory and honour belongs to you Lord! Thank you Jesus! (Waves her hands to the heavens).
Susan: Amen Mum, please get up and stop crying. It’s well now.
Mr. Williams: Yes it is my dear (smiles).
Theresa: But Dad, we don’t have any clothes to wear on that day. Remember that all our clothes are worn out.
Mr. Williams: Argh! That’s true, and I don’t money to get us some new clothes.
* phone rings *
Susan: Excuse me, I gotta get this. (Walks to her room) Hello?
Edwin: Hello Miss I wanna know it all.
Susan: Edwin?
Edwin: Is live on your ear waves.
Susan: How did you get my number? Because I can’t remember giving it to you when we last met.
Edwin: Well, that was easy. I know someone, who knows someone, who knows someone, who knows someone’s cousin, whose friend is a hacker. So…yeah, pretty much like that.
Susan: Oh really? How are you doing? Have you spoken to your Mother?
Edwin: Yes I have. And I’ve also reconciled things with her and my Father.
Susan: Awwn, that’s good to hear.
Edwin: And it’s all because of you. Thank you for being there for me when I really needed someone.
Susan: It’s nothing, really. And I would gladly do that a million times over.
Edwin: (laughs) That means you want me to fight with my parents a million times, huh?
Susan: (laughs) No, that’s not what I mean.
Edwin: So, have you gotten my packages?
Susan: What packages?
Edwin: The appointment letter to your Dad and also the invitation card.
Susan: (gasp) Are you the Senate President?
Edwin: What! (Laughs) Hell no! I’m too young to be one. It’s my Dad that is the Senate President.
Susan: What! So you’re the Senate President’s son?
Edwin: (laughs) You say it as if it were some fancy title, but yeah I’m.
Susan: Wow! I never knew.

You shouldn't respond the way you did. You have to listen to critics to improve better.

Thank You Bro,

How can the son of a senate president pressure his father to give a man who barely knows anything about management an appointment and get a reply in form of a letter

Although the story is pure fiction reality should be embraced

I love the way your story started but if your characters are mismatched it will show a leak.

Rather than insult me check your story and make necessary corrections

you should know in Nigeria political appointees into positions of PA, SA, SSA is not based on merit or what the individuals can offer but as compensation to their loyalists. Heck haven't you heard of governors having over 200 personnel in such positions?

Even though its not the right thing to do but in the Nigerian context, its realistic

Yeah so true. Asemark listen to critics and improve. Great writers of today won't have succeeded if you only listen to good things about you.

Pls stop. How can say that it can't happen? It happens every where. Didnt Trump nominate someone who know nothing about being a judge a Judge? Come out from the bubble that you are living and face reality.
Those boys surrounding Buhari as SAs and PAs what do they know about Media and SDG apart from Tolu and Adesina? What of the journalist that has a degree in Islamic Studies that he appointed Minister of Education? The former Deputy to Fashola that is now SSAP-SDG (Senior Special Adviser to the President in SDG), what experience does she have on Sustainable Development apart from that she is a professional hairdresser?

Asemark did not tell you in the story that the man did not have any management experience. He was silent on the kind of work the man was doing and his qualifications. You just concluded on your own that he isn't qualified for the job. That's how you guys cease stories from the author and finish it for them. Allow him to tell his story. If you feel so much about it, start yours.

Asemark, you are doing well.

When the son of ordinary SA or PA to ordinary commissioner can talk to his father or mother to help you get a job, how much more the son of the THIRD highest ranked officer at the Federal Govt? You people are really living in a bubble.

You still don't get my point, it was barely 24hrs after the two of them became friends. barely 24hrs after he forgave his parents. come on!

I am not talking Nigerian concept, I'm talking about how things should be.

Anyways, if you intend to keep it that way I can't change your mind but this story will never make it to FP if this is how you want to continue.
