federal government takes Nigerians as slaves, the slave masters rules from Abuja. we are supposed to have independent regions in Nigeria and that was what the British left in 1960 until the military boys took over changed the system |

blackaxe78: No one is opposing ranching. Ranching should be restricted to the core north. We don't want fulanis in Yoruba land. They are evil. Just build your ranches in your fulani states that's all. 2 Likes |

blackaxe78:Nothing stops you from converting all the land in the NE and NW to grazing reserves. All we are saying is that not an inch of Yoruba land will be handed over to the Fulani in the name of cattle ranching. The one you took treacherously from afonja in Ilorin is enough. 1 Like |

Hector09: A proposal is not force. He only proposed. The idea of setting ranches in the North alone is void, with the fact that the products are consumed all over the country. The gains of Ranches outweighs the ills. Ethno-religious sentiments has just blindfolded lots We rather see multiple deaths and blame an administration without no logical solution. Imagine you saying ranching should only be done in the North. smh |

blackaxe78:How did Tomatoes, onions, beans and other farm produce gets to other parts of the country from the north? Are there not northerners that transfers their cattle via truck to the south? Must we have piggery reserves, Fishery reserves, poultry reserves all over the country before we eat Pork, chickens and fish? Even fish and poultry products that are imported from far away Netherland gets to every Nigeria market on a daily basis. Likewise goods and farm produce are transported from the south to the north on a daily basis. The New Zealand you talked doesn't have cattle ranch in every neighborhood. It's high time you quit that primitive almajiri school and put your brain to good use. 3 Likes |

PVision2020: Hear yourself! Do you think you making sense. The Tomatoes and products from the North you consuming today did not get to Lagos today, Like wise the beef. Please reason and make logical points. Moving Cattles to the South on daily basis..... smh You should be sacked from your work place if you reason at this level. You couldnt even proffer a sensible solution. Cattles leaving Sokoto to Bayelsa on daily basis... Chai! |
Re: FG Shouldn’t Cause Crisis With Ranches – Yoruba Youths by PVision2020(m): 11:27am On Jul 02, 2018 |
blackaxe78:My friend stop being primitive. How a product gets to the customers/consumers is the sole headache of the producers. The poultry farmers in the SW transport their day old chicks to far away Bayelsa, frozen fish gets to every part of Nigeria from Lagos port without ish. Nothing stops the herders also from transporting their cattle to various abbatiors whether daily, weekly or monthly, that's their headache. Fulani herdsmen aren't doing us any favour, we pay as high as 300k for a cow, so they aren't giving us cows for free. 3 Likes |

PVision2020: You still mot making a point. Is it on daily basis? "Frozen" you called it and not fresh. I would have welcomed it if you said Fresh fish is transported from Lagos to Bayelsa. You talking of a product people mostly demand fresh and mostly will reject a second day product. Lets imagine cattles are transported monthly to every region, wouldnt still their be a designated ranch they will be before facing the abbattior? Moreover, Where is this done in any part of the world? If I am to list the advantages of ranching to you, you wont be able to come up with 3 meaningful disadvantages of ranching |

blackaxe78:You're just roaming about in a vicious cycle. Cattle rearing is a private business like Piggery, Fishery, Farming etc, so how you go about selling to your customers is nobodies business. An abbatoir can handle up-to 100-200 cows, that would cater for the weekly need of that community. And nothing stops them from killing the cattle in the north, freeze it and transport it in refrigerators as the case of Chickens and turkey. This cattle breeders are billionaires with some of them having up-to 5k cows, so they can develop new ways of getting their products to their consumers Nigerians can no longer accommodate your primitive and savage lifestyles, we've moved on, it's either you catch up or you fizzle out of business. You can only start making sense when you advocate for the creation of: Piggery ranch, fishery reserves, Poultry ranch, Farm settlements, Snail farmers enclaves, Grass cutter ranch, Clubs and beer parlour hub, Distilling and Brewery industrial Estate etc, in the core north, exclusive for non Fulanis. What is good for the goose is also good for the gander. BTW no advantage of cattle ranching can be compare to the value of life which unfortunately the fulanis doesn't value. 2 Likes |

There would not be crisis, crisis will arise if the FG is actually giving ownership of the ranches to the herders. This initiative of erecting ranches to reduce or totally alleviate this disease of farmers/herders clashes so we can all live in peace. This ranches wouldn't be owned by the herdsmen but by the FG, they are only being given land so they have a place for their cows to graze and not have to compete with farmers for land space. There is no way this new livestock program will cause more harm than good |

blackaxe78: This is as ridiculous as they come When will you dredge a river in the north so that fisher can fish in that area as well? Since you must farm in an area before the local population can have access to the product Look there is something called export. Hausa Fulani people should approach banks, take loans and buy a land for their cattle ranching and then export the meat to wherever their customers are! It is not up to government to impose ranching on all states! |
Re: FG Shouldn’t Cause Crisis With Ranches – Yoruba Youths by blackaxe78: 1:18pm On Jul 02, 2018 |
Ndonu101: I never said lands should be given to them free of charge. My point is state government should set aside ranches they can buy into and henceforth ban open grazing. You see why this topic has never been discussed arguably is all because its political with ethnotribal differences. Its just similar to a government declaring a land mass as an industrial area, It doesnt mean lands will be given out free of charge but probably at a subsidized rate to woo investors. With this development if discussed amicably between parties, it will end all this crisis as open grazing becomes a crime. It not even compulsory its sale, a lease can also work. People have just been bitter due to religious and ethnic differences. If we are to eliminate those factors. A lot o clashes would have been averted and no one would commit a crime in disguise as an herdsman. |
