JUNE PARTNERS ROUNDTABLE REPORT

Our recent Partners' Roundtable event was a huge success with more than 500 drivers in attendance; of which 35 were female.

The 10 sessions held over 5 days, were a good opportunity for our team to highlight the growth and success we have achieved together in the last 6 months; Topics discussed included the intended Vehicle Categories, Customer Service, Fraud, Debt Collection and Future app updates.

Attendees were shown our new office space, which was designed to improve driver partners experience during support and training. The flexibility of the new walk-in support times, 9am to 3pm, was also universally applauded.

After extensive dialogue and feedback. the sessions concluded with us reaffirming our commmitment to remaining the highest earning platform for you, our esteemed Friends. Driver-partners present also promised to abide by laid down guidelines, refrain from fraudulent activities and offer 5-star Service.

Furthermore, there are a few new app and service updates coming in the next few weeks

Forced Rider Destinations: All riders must now set their destination when requesting so yuou destination will be available In-app.
Cancellation fees: Coming soon
Driver destinations: Coming soon
Paid Waiting time: Coming soon

While we look forward to the next edition, we will continue to work relentlessly to ensure that you keep earning the most with us as we move Lagos together in the second half of 2018.

Be on the lookout for a report on the performance of the new categories shortly

I have practically confirmed uber can't connect u to a rider if u rate them 1star even of they rate u 5star.{vice-versa we know of}

Ikeja to abule egba i dropped one lady, very annoying human. Ok. We got there said i should end ride and she will request again to international airport, she would just drop something and ease herself. I rated her 1star.
Gave me her iphone to do it. I rated myself 5star when the option popped up.
Now trying to request myself with her app... For where? One jackson kept getting the request 2km away.
Cancelled, request again... Same thing repeatedly.
I got tired. Madam please let do offline trip....

Half way to the airport i realized it the one star gave her...
Today wasn't bad. Up uber!
Na waoo for you ooo, y still give her 1 star even when she was yielding? No matter how tough she was, your heart was supposed to melt the moment she started cooperating

Yes you can, it's a high end phone, everything is pra on it.
Newer high end phones are usually good for ride share, it's the mid and low budget ones you have to ask questions about.

Day time, night time, online, offline, male, female.
Always be observant.

A ride share driver's job is much more than just driving forward.
Even as I was cracking jokes with my riders and we were all laughing like carefree teenagers. I was still always watchful for any sign of danger from rider to myself, any signs of danger from other people to rider and myself etc.
The amounts of danger open to a ride share driver is very high.
Zipping around all day, drivers are more prone to accidents.
Because they drive new(ish) cars, they are prone to carjacking.
Because they handle cash, they are open to muggings. And there's many many more.
As the poster said, don't drive into compounds night time or under funny circumstances, if you are not sure, make up your mind and leave. Don't tarry.
-don't leave your stash where it's easily visible or accessible.
-have a 2 way dash cam. Make sure it's always on. Its a deterrent.
-always try to park "getaway" style.

You may also have a handy pepper spray which should ONLY be used in absolute emergencies where you feel endangered. Just close your eyes and spray, so it won't affect you too. Cos you still have to make good your escape.
Please don't spray riders because you think they are rude o.
Drive with your doors locked and your windows cracked only a little way down. I almost fell victim to this one once, but as I was slowing down at the speed bump, it occurred to me this was a bad area to drive so I locked my doors, 1 second before I saw the guy jogging alongside my car trying to open my door. As I said, sometimes only a hunch is needed.
Even when you are parked, a pedestrian could grab your phone and bail.
Most people feel they are safe and nothing can happen to them because they are special, it's not true.
While I'm not saying you are not special, Anything can happen at anytime.
Get good health insurance for yourself as a driver, it is ordinary common sense, Uber's insurance may not cover you.
Always, always have a security plan.
And stay safe. It's very important. So we can all move Lagos together.
