If you have concerns about the water, you can use cooled boiled water.
I.e. boil the water you’ll use in the evening in the morning, pour it inside a bucket/bowl with cover and use as cold water in the evening.

I use my bare hands with soap to bathe my baby until he’s 3 months, then I switch to wash cloth and start using sponge as from 1 year or as the spirit leads. No rashes, no eczema, no dry skin. If you are using sponge, always rinse it out thoroughly after use and dry it before using it again. Moist sponge can harbor germs and be spreading rashes and you won’t know where it’s coming from.

I wash their hair 2 or 3 times in a week with baby shampoo. Other times, I use only water to rinse the hair to moisturize it.

Please my son was circumcised on Friday and a ring placed on his penis. I was told the penis will swell but to press it with spirit and cottonwool. The thing is when I remove his pampers, I see some sort of sticky residue where his penis was.

The penis is still swollen and when I try pressing it, he screams so much, I feel xxxxxx.

I don't know what to do. The matron said if by Friday this week the ring has not fallen off, to bring the baby back to the hospital for them to remove it themselves.

I'm wondering if I should not press it anymore and just wait till Friday so I can take him back for them to remove it themselves.

My grandma said the should have done it another way where you will simply use olive oil after the circumcision has been done.

My 6 weeks old has had ela for about 3 weeks now. We've been applying one cream given to us at the hospital as they said mycoten was strong for new born. Mil decided we get the red flower to bath him to clear it out cos his hair is now going backwards, I didn't complain cos I've seen mamas make ref to it here.

Now my issue is, what was brought were herbs and not one flower. I didn't grow up taking herbs so not used to even seeing them. Pls i need the help of the mamas that know about herbs here to confirm that these are fine, else I pack it one corner. Someone picked it from the woman so I don't even have a means to contact the herb woman.pls is anyone familiar with them. The pictures are not loading but there are 4items; two sets of folded leaves(said one is the dried red flower), roots or stems or bark (the popular thing I see in agbo) and something else (attached).
Pls mamas comment on this and what other options do I have?

A test to check for cervical cancer. They'll collect sample from the cervix(the way they do HVS) and tell you to come later for your result either positive or negative

Thank you for the response. Can I use this bathwash to wash her hair in place of shampoo? Also I'm not the one bathing her for now its MIL. She scrub her hair with soap and sponge in the morning and dosnt wash at all in the evening.

Breast milk (I express and rub every 2 or 3 hours) and homemade coconut oil
These are the only 2 things that works on my baby's rash.

Just bathe baby like that and it will fall off.....
If you are too worried just show a Doctor...

But please don't press abeg....
I didn't even apply anything on it...... and we have a nice looking p***s now ......
I wish I could show u a before picture cos it looked so ugly and swollen but turned out fine.....

The ring method was not done for my son but i know others who had it said they were told not to touch it till it fell off.

The other method your grandma referred to was done and I didn't enjoy it cos people said it wud heal in a week but I had to see another Doctor and a pediatrician when it didn't heal as expected. Finally healed after 3 weeks when a cream was recommended by a pediatrician.

If you're not comfortable with the way it looks, visit the hospital for their own opinion. Don't wait till Friday.

This evening I saw it looking like it had pus on one side. I'll take a picture upon his next diaper change.

Please Mamas that use Nan milk, I observed that there are two types in the market. One is made in Mexico with a gold cover and the spoon is inside the milk. The second one is made in France and the spoon is on top of the seal and has a white cover for 1 and 2, and gold transparent cover for stage 3.

My baby started taking the one from France but Dh mistakenly bought the on from Mexico and we had loose stool until I figured out the reason. Immediately I switched back to his usual one, his stool changed.

We need to be observant with all that is going on now. The regulatory bodies seem to be asleep. Check expiration date and manufacturing date and country. Observe the pack of your product so you can easily detect changes.
