There are hatred groups among the south Africans who are committed to violent course against innocent Nigerians and even brutally execute one like this deaseased brother. Our foreign ministry should alert citizens of imminent danger they may face when travelling to some countries. May his soul rest in peace.

Back to the topic. In other news, Ramphosa said the killing in South Africa is been carried out by some criminals and not xenophobia Attack. Who is fooling who? I will advice Nigerian in South Africa to be watchful because those guys are deadly. Nigeria government is not ready to do anything to help the matter. Small Cameroon dey intimidate our people for our backyard here (Bakassi penisula) and d Nigeria government is quite about it talk more of u people in far away SA. Oyo is ur case if u dey wait fr Nigeria government
Please leave south Africans and xenophobia out of this incident. You don't live in Sa

My problem is mostly our government's total unwillingness to act up. Why are Mtn and shoprite not sanctioned for their unending infractions?

Why is Dstv left to operate with a monopoly unrivalled by any Nigerian firm or operating services?

Why is the Nigerian government refusing to indigenise the south African companies and block their unhindered foreign exchange repartriation back to their country?

I blame Nigeria's soft stance towards this issue? If even at home, the Government doesn't regard the sanctity of human life, how then can they protect it overseas?

Buhari You have failed. By now a normal government supposed to withdraw embassy and issue international threats of equal violent reactions.

I agree with you on that. you go to another mans country and start selling drugs. what will end your life is death by the same set of people you are doing business with. South Africa is a hub for drugs. Even HIV drugs are hijacked by drug peddlers and drug addicts. Nigeria is gradually getting there with the way the youths are abusing drugs. it is not becoming a norm.

grandstar:

Black South Africans also suffer a lot of crime.

Nigerians there are heavily involved in the drug trade.

South Africa has very high unemployment so when Nigerians get there and have no jobs and are suffering, they are lured into drugs to survive.

Dude, in as much as we all condemn xenophobic attacks and killings, but do you have the slightest idea of the remote and present issues leading to the killings before you blame the government and call for sanctions on private firms? Do you know if the killings are drug or cult related ? Are you not aware of the high numbers of cultist- , Viking, Eiye cultist in South Africa?
Why is it that is mainly the ibo people that are targeted? Are there no yourbas, Hausa, Bini or Tiv people in South Africa?
Are the killings battle of supremacy between Nigerian and South African gangs? Do you have a clue if killing is related to the Ozobulu massacre in Nigeria.? This are the little questions that one should ask before blaming the government directly. Thank you

Ndlea are not the court and cannot determine who goes to court or who doesn't. As long as he can maintain and prove he wasn't caught with drugs and simply came to see a friend.

Get a pro bono lawyer or a public defender. You can contact human right volunteers like the JDPC. They will be cheaper and usually help those who can't afford exorbitant legal fees.

If he is innocent, let him stand his ground, the 150,000 naira NDLEA is outright extortion. As longer his being in that hotel is not connected with drugs he will walk but you guys have to do the right thing by not paying that extortion fee except he is guilty.

The first thing the lawyer may do is to file for fundamental and start claiming damages for harrasment on an innocent client who was arrested for being in a hotel with a friend.

That's why they need to run to human right organisations like JDPC without wasting time.
A letter from them or a 30 minute meeting with their NDLEA local commander will make them start asking whether they have enough evidence to even take him to court if he can prove he simply came around to visit a friend and his presence in that hotel is simply coincidental and at best circumstantial.

Stop enriching this uniformed criminals, except of course he can be proven guilty. If he is actually guilty, then the 150,000 is actually a slap on the wrist.

I can't imagine lodging in a hotel during a travel and some morons simply come to arrest me because criminals also lodged in there. Ofcourse I'll gladly stay in the cells for 24 hours to allow investigation. That's the maximum the police is required to hold any suspect when there is a court closeby. After 24 hours, if I'm still detained every policeman I can remember their names will be mentioned on my motion for fundamental right and claim of damages.

They have their promotions to protect, they have their jobs to protect and I'm sure their ogas will be waiting to sacrifice the junior officers to save his name and office and be willing to use that.

Please get a human right activist or even any respectable person of good standing in the society to speak with the highest officer in that NDLEA office where he is detained. Real questions will be asked in that office and he'll have a good chance of being released if he is innocent. No prosecuting officer even wants to waste their time going to court if he is not being paid by another party especially on a case that might even be difficult to prove.

People are talking rubbish cos they dont know wat they are saying.
Many of these killings are done by Nigerians themselves. Many of these guys deal in drugs and fraud. They double cross each other, cheat each other, swindle each other and kill each other.

South Africans wont kill Nigerian and leave his car.

Our government refuses to act because those in government feel they did not send you there. Also, because most who are killed in SA are mostly from southern Nigeria, the northerners in our government do not feel it concerns them, especially considering that northern muslims rarely leave Nigeria. That is why Buhari doesn't care. This is sad.

Also, regarding South African companies, it is Nigerian citizens that will act and do something. No one stops us from entering those SA company facilities and destroying them.

Julius Malema and other ordinary South Africans led and supported the physical destruction of H&M stores by storming the store themselves and destroying it over that "monkey in a jungle" shirt saga. It was not their government officials that did it.

So, if Nigerians are really angry at these killings, we should physically attack and destroy their companies, as this is the only way it will send a strong message to South Africans and their leaders. Complaining on social media won't change or stop anything!

In spite of that, I personally don't think SA leaders can stop these criminals, just like our own leaders couldn't stop Boko Haram criminals from wrecking havoc and killing people in neighboring countries of Cameroon and Chad.

Criminals and law breakers are in every country. And we don't even know if it is not fellow Nigerians that are killing themselves in SA, afterall, killing ourselves is a free-for-all right now in Nigeria.

But I think if you become a target for whatever reason, you must make a choice. If people don't want you in their country or community, leave!
