Arguably, no state or province in Africa can match Lagos state in terms of the enormous revenue that it generates.

Lagos state - the 7th largest economy in Africa – boasts of a monthly IGR of N36billion (N432 Billion annually). This is exclusive of the annual over N120billion it gets from the Federal pursue.

Indeed, with such a terrific fiscal muscle, far more is expected from the state’s administrators.

With such resources, the least that is expected from the different tiers of governments in Lagos state is to ensure that the basic social infrastructure and amenities are in good condition.

For instance, potholes should be a scarce feature on roads in Lagos state.

Except we delude ourselves, in Lagos state, there are far more bad roads than good ones.

Lagosians are far too progressive a people to be deluded by mere window-dressing.

Indeed, rehabilitated, reconstructed and constructed roads ought to be self-evident across every part of the state, Inner or outter roads, nowhere should enjoy better patronage than the other.

For instance, Surulere, Aguda-Coker, Itire-Ikate Local Government Areas of Lagos state are prime residential and commercial locations in the state. 

Sadly, in these locations, the embarrassing sights of bad road are a serious cause for concern.

Crater-sized potholes and gullies, decrepit road surfaces are common features on roads in Surulere.

Adetola street, Adesina road, Itire road, Ijesha roads, Omilani street, Ilamoye street, Oduduwa road, Kilo, Aguda, Karonwi, etc. These locations have mountains, ridges, hills and craters for roads.

In Surulere, when it rains, the craters deepen and widen and the potholes become lakes.

Tragically, roads in Surulere is a macrocosm of how inner city roads in Lagos are.

LSPWC and LAWMA are two critical government agencies Ambode rendered impotent. The road situation is the same everywhere in Lagos, governance should cut across all sectors, that's one area Fashola's administration beats Ambode hands down.

From an infrastructure point of view I don't rate Fashola or Ambode high at all. Drainage poor, roads poor, transport is poor

Ikoyi roads are also terrible in many places talkless of Surulere. Not good at all. It always begs the question- where is all the money going?

Please do a little investigation. Find out if it’s state road or under Surulere LG chairman care

If it is under local government care, attack and possibly kill the local government chairmain, trust me the next LG chairman will never leave council project undone after he must have been paid to develope his local council.

If it is under Lagos State Government care, go to Alausa to protest peacefully. If the try to use force to stop you from protesting peacefully then you have the right to the state House on fire. That’s the only approach that will get things done in Nigeria right now.

No wonder Ambode has refused to domesticate the FOI bill. What do you do with people's taxes?

Ogbeni, I personally dont rate PM News and the faceless blogsite you are projecting as a serious news sources. I have more important things on my hand than to spend/waste precious time poring over APC/ACN propaganda stables.

You were too quick to read between the lines...The statement that SOME Yorubas suffer from Stockholm Syndrome cannot possibly qualify as an ethnic pejorative... I didnt say ALL Yorubas...BTW, the same assertion could be applied/made to other nationalities.
