about 10 different persons were copying my story and posting it to different Facebook pages and groups and they were all claiming ownership of the story,,,here is one of them "Cceeboi" a Facebook page

apart from prosper vibz who admitted that he was sorry


i have already deleted from.episode 44 to 53 of season 1 to prevent them from going further,let them use their head to complete it!


it was really painful but God will surly judge and reward them,something will hit them


So fam! i have made up my mind to start posting the season 2 and many other stories on my new Facebook group

I don't even know what's wrong with some persons with stealing people's work and labeling it as theirs. That's criminal! What would it take you to acknowledge the original author if at all you want to copy and paste a story on your timeline or on a Facebook page?
Now, having said that, YoungZubi, I will like to advise you on something.
You are a just kickstarting your writing career on here. This is your first story, I guess. People are just getting to know you and identify with with your writing skills and abilities. You are yet to gain ground adequately and have enough fan base. This is your launching point. Your takeoff point. Your incubating point. Removing your self from such an environment and relocating to a relatively unknown environment (not taking anything away from the Facebook community. I know its a very large one) where people don't know much about your being a writer isn't exactly genius. This is your home. Your field. Your area.Your ground. Build your talent here first and gain enough ground and followership before thinking of moving away to another turf.
There are countless number of writers who started here just like you and today, they are household names here on Nairaland. And the truth is that when they started, it wasn't easy at all for them. They too were faced with the issue of Plagiarism. Persons were stealing their works on here and criminally labeling it as theirs. But the thing is that after complaining about it, the authors carried on with the stories. They were more concerned with having a foothold on here and making a name for themselves. If they had discontinued the stories and moved to form a Facebook group for the remaining part of the story, I bet you, they wouldn't have gotten the same audience they have while here.
Look at it this way: Count the number of people who view your stories every day here on Nairaland and tell me if you will get the same number of people as members of the group you want to open for the story. You have a wider range of viewers here than Facebook. Google Nairaland and see its Rating. Its one of the biggest forum in the whole of Africa. Believe me when I say this is the best place to kick start your writing career,not on Facebook.
People will frustrate you on Facebook.Lol... When you stay up all night to update your story and you get just 4 or 5 Likes and maybe 2 comments. So many people will decide to read on Ghost mode. You will even be wondering if people are reading your stories at all. Lol.... I have experienced it, first hand. I know how it feels. You will even be tempted to discontinue the story. But here on Nairaland, people still give their comments and Likes, even though it's not as much as you would have loved it,but its still better off than what is attainable in a Facebook page.
What I will advise you to do is this: Whenever you come across a page that is using your work without your express permission, comment on it and let the readers know the owner of the page stole that work from you. Warn him/her to discontinue the use of your work or you will be forced to report such page to the Facebook team for sanctioning. You have proof that the work is yours, but he/she doesn't. You can always provide a link to Nairaland where they can see your original work and confirm it's yours. Also, you can report such a person, if you know his Moniker to any of the Modes for sanctioning.


Like I said, you are just beginning. Don't put a clog on the wheel of your writing progress by relocating to another turf. That would be a great career mistake. I just visited your page and saw just 39 members. Just imagine that. Compare that to the number of views your story gets each day here and the people who visits your profile every day.
Here is the statistics: "Sex na food" has 149,418 Views and 1563 Comments. "I fit be Jesus" that you just started has 4347 Views and 105 Comments. Except if you honestly think you can get such number of views and comments on Facebook, then you can continue with your plan of relocating. But if you think you can't get it there, then I advise you stay put and keep doing your thing here.

I believe a word is enough for the wise. And I know you are a very wise young chap.
