The other national assets they sold, have they account for the income derived from the privatization process?

See mumu o. . .

The fuel increase from N87 to N145 was for what exactly

I prefer the truthful devil than the lying priest.

Buhari promised to reduce it AMD he said there was nothing like subsidy; he ended up doubling the price plus that same subsidy. . .

Who's fooling who?? I'll tell yhu; it's the uneducated Buhari fooling yhu, who still think he's educated. .

P.S. Atiku cannot singlehandedly sell NNPC, he needs two-thirds support from the Senate. . Phew!

Then, what is the way forward? We can't be running from a failed government into another one that will create another problem.

NLC can stage a protest if it has a leader with integrity. All well meaning Nigeria should kick against it.

The money gotten from the sales will be mismanaged and looted. And whoever buys it will only pay tax. The money gotten from the tax cannot in any way near the amount of revenue the country is getting from it.

You gave a Lame reason to sell off Nnpc!! It's basically about your hatred for politicians putting their kids in Nnpc as a staff!

If u were in similar position you would do the same for your kids.

Get a binoculars, then u will get a clearer picture or better still free your mind from hate, and you will clearly understand the consequences of selling off NNPC.

NNPC is a dead parastatal, it only exist to share national cake among the bourgeois. Nothing more!

That's why they can't efficiently build and manage refineries. How many NNPC filling stations are functional in your locality? None! But do you know that the non-existent staffs in those locked up NNPC stations have salaries allocated to them. Someone somewhere in the NNPC is swallowing the money of non-existent staffs.

The story was the same with NEPA, I once took a crazy bill of N90,000 to NEPA office in 2002 for complaint, the idiot I met at the table was swallowing eba while I poured out my pleas and frustrations. When he decided to speak, He told me categorically there was nothing like crazy bill, that we must pay the bill before reconnection. How could a 2 bedroom flat with few home appliances be billed such? The bill before that month was N5,000. I insisted it was an error but the NEPA man who believed he was a god because he worked for government insisted I leave his office while he threw in morsels of eba into his mouth. Such was the level of rot in most government parastatals till today.

He didn't see me as a customer, he saw me as a small bloody rat whom he could treat shabily because he worked for government.
Fast forward to today, such nonsense are no longer tolerated in Privatized electricity Discos. Their customer care calls me back anytime I go to their office to report a fault. Today I have the phone number of the feeder manager of our transmission area. If there is a fault in our transformers and a report is made, within 48 hours it will be fixed. If they don't fix it, they won't make money.

Same scenario was obtainble with NITEL, their call agents were very abusive whenever you called them to forward your calls to a certain number or to make a complaint, before the advent of GSM and privatization. They didn't care, they were working for government. Today private network providers can never dare to insult to a subscriber.

Privatization is linked with efficiency, however you look at it. NNPC should go the same way. Atiku should sell it!

The only business govt has is the provision of security, health and education. They should leave proper business for investors and technocrats not politicians and their kids who feel like demi-gods.

This is exactly what we need to happen.

NNPC has become a burden that will need to lay off.

How can we be d biggest producer of Oil In African And still import from non oil producing country.

Most of you re shallow minded and doesn't knkw d burden this NNPC has placed on Nigeria.

More reasons why I believe that Atiku means well for Nigeria.
It takes a bold heart to talk about an unpopular decision few days to an election.

NITEL, NEPA, NPA, now NNPC! Reflection of the failure of governance. Nigerian politicians have continued to abdicate government's primary responsibilities to the people/nation in the name/guise of privatisation. NNPC still remains a cashcow to a section of Nigerians...I wonder if Atiku is excluded.

I dont understand all what these lamentations is all about? Must everybody accept your opinion? Go and vote if you know its not in Nigeria interest, stop coming here giving stupid reasons to change our minds. We know better....

Even if Atiku sells NNPC, who NNPC help? Do you know the waste that has gone down the drain in this present regime alone and after 4years, not one refinery still works even with Buhari as minister for petroleum. Mind you, its not NNPC that drills or anything, on the other hand, they import what we consume locally even though the oil is ours. So why won't I support the selling. The volume of corruption in NNPC knows no bound. In fact, after police, the second HQ of corruption in Nigeria is NNPC. What am I saying sef, they run at par. Let him sell it abeg so the thieves there can find another work and let Nigeria move forward.

Secondly, I dont care also if he sells it to his immediate brother. After all, I know of one national leader that cornered Osun for his inlaws, he even went further to pick his loyal padi to be vice president, even his wife was not spared a third term in the senate and another kept the most juicest jobs in the whole federal republic to himself and the other highly placed positions to his kinsmen. So what's wrong in Atiku selling to his friends when they can run it more efficiently, providing jobs, make product available locally without importing, invest and make Nigeria a better place...

Do you want him to sell it to his enemies ni? Or do you not know every Nigerian is a potential friend to the president?

Talk another one, make I hear o.

The privatization. Led to net gain in Employment and other opportunities. If given another chance, NITEL must be resold.

NNPC must go.

DID YOU KNOW?

• @NNPCgroup sold 173.91m barrels of crude oil in Q3 2018

• Only 19.72% of the total sales receipt from $ payment was remitted into FAAC acct

• No record of what was remitted to FAAC from ₦ payment

The breakdown of NNPC performance in Q3 2018? It’s a THREAD.

Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party on Wednesday in Kaduna reiterated his plan to privatise the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation(NNPC), if elected president on Feb 23.
Abubakar spoke at a town hall meeting with ward, local government and state party leaders in the state at the Kaduna Trade Fair Complex.

He said that the NNPC had failed to serve the purpose for which it was established in 1977.
According to him, selling-off the Corporation and all the three refineries is the best option for the country, likening it to the sale of Nigerian Telecommunication Limited (NITEL).

Abubakar said Nigeria is among the biggest producers of crude, but lamented that the country still imports refined products for local consumption at exorbitant prices to the detriment of the common man.
He said, if elected President, he would deregulate the NNPC and sell it to Nigerians. the way Obasanjo sold NITEL.
However, he forgot to mention that the sale of NITEL was disastrously done.
Under Obasanjo, NITEL went through several botched sales and management turnaround contracts. First, 51 per cent of the shares was sold to a group of investors under the trading name of Investors International London limited.
The sale was cancelled after the investors failed to pay. Then in 2003, , the government approved a management turnaround contract with a firm called Pentascope. The contract was cancelled in 2005 after it became clear Pentascope did not have the adequate resources to run NITEL.
In 2005, government again offered NITEL to Orascom. This failed again, leading the government to sell it to a subsidiary of Transcorp in 2007. The sale was revoked in 2009. In 2014, the firm was sold to NATCOM, a group of investors led by Tunde Ayeni. Ayeni since then has been running it as NTEL
