There are achievers in every ethnicity.People are doing great things based on their personal choices and decisions. It has nothing to do with ethnicity or the name she bears.I see lots of dumb ethnic apologists everywhere here.Terrible! 5 Likes |

Stop the misinformation. She isn't the first black woman. She had refuted this in a tweet last month or so. Find link below : https://twitter.com/wendy_okolo/status/1097909296577228800?s=19 1 Like |

This is a great accomplishment. Such stuffz cost money though. Not cheap. No ASUU strike delaying you. No departmnts losing your transcript. Nothing like that. Conducive learning environment. No bad belle people. So what about ppl strting their bsc's at 46! Any hope for them? Stories like this makes them feel old and discouraged and left out! Or 56! :@ it aint jealousy but the success of another person can be totally demoralising to others- who compare themselves to them!! Just saps u of energy worst still when others rub it for you! Any wonder some ppl commit suicide? The shame! The psychological strain... It can b too much to handle. Again, it aint jealousy but GLORY a reminder of what/where the afflicted could have been? Like when a barren married woman gets news that her colleague's daughter is pregnant with twins! It magnifies her shame. Others get resentful and green with envy- then try to attack/eliminate the person causing the feelings. That is jealousy. This is where wishing/willing evil on the other arises. Like bathing d girl with acid cuz she was more beautiful. Sitting on a person's promotion etc. E.g when the barren married woman gets wind that her illiterate househelp is pregnant! She could get green with envy and attack the object of Glory. Trying to extinguish the glory to cure her shame problem. In this case, she could try to beat the house help so bad tht she aborts! I heard of a man who used to beat the professor wife. He was attacking Glory. Or some people build up psychological defences. They rationalize away the glory. Kinda like trying to dilute it or dampen it. Again, the goal is to reduce the pang of shame. So they reason and say! You own a degree (s) i have money. Or yes you are so rich but you are an illiterate (no university degree). Or she fine but she no get nyansh etc. Finding a flaw in the object of glory, lessens the shame pangs. Rationalizing is akin to attacking glory, psychologically. Another reaction is to,be intimidated. Usually this is a knee jerk reaction. Prolonged intimidation leads to worshipping the object of Glory. This what makes some ppl respond in awe to people who are famous. Women throw themselves at rockstars / famous entertainers. People give preferrential treatmnt. The objective is to identify with Glory or hav some of it. Another reaction is to celebrate or adore the Glory. Like one appreciates the sweetness of a pleasant perfume. Or the deliciousness of a pleasant meal. |
