Obaseki Tells Workers: I Will Increase Minimum Wage If We Improve On Revenue by GidifeedNews: 8:02am On May 02, 2019 |
Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, has promised to increase the new minimum wage recently signed by President Muhammadu Buhari. He revealed this during a rally to mark the 2019 May Day celebration which held at the University of Benin Sports Complex in Benin City, the state capital. Speaking on the theme, “Another 100 years of struggle for jobs, dignity and social justice in Nigeria,” the governor noted that the increment would take place if the workers work hard to increase the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of the state. Nigerian government is the biggest scammer. The new minimum wage and the old minimum wage is the same thing? I wondered whether we have a labour Union in this country. Price of fuel was 87 naira and minimum wage was 18,000 naira. 18,000÷87=206.8965517 litres ( meaning the minimum wage can only buy 207 litres of fuel) 30,000÷145= 206.8965517 litres (meaning the minimum wage can only buy 207 litres of fuel), exactly the same amount even to the last decimal point. 19 Likes 2 Shares |

Try and probe Osho baba, I believe the cash stolen during his regime will be enough to pay the new minimum wage. 1 Like |

All the governors don dey dodge this minimum wage things, the most annoying is this oyo state governor elect who has not even been swear in but he is already complaining about new minimum wage. Yet he was the same man who told oyo state civil servant that they deserve more than 30k minimum wage and that if elected, he will surely pay them the new minimum wage. 7 Likes |

Nice move meaning if we achieve more we will all enjoy , these are standard practices In private companies. If we are doing well everyone will enjoy , if all governor's would look inward and generate revenue from the vast resources around them. Tourism alone can sustain some state to earn higher than Lagos. Some states are blessed with wildlife , beautiful mountains, sea side , rare animals but no , all we do is destroy those natural beauty to build estates, kill the animals to meat . When I see how much Kenya and other African countries make from tourism its scary cos we haven't even started. 4 Likes |

But you collect millions / billions as egunje via security vote, contract padding via proxies, all all manner of fraudulent money via proxies into your pocket monthly / quarterly etc but to pay ordinary 30,000 naira which is not even enough as slave wage for civil servants in your state is a problem, now fúçk off to see Morocco / see Spain 1 Like
