It must be outside if they were smoking. It is illegal to smoke indoors in UK unless it's in the privacy of your own home.

And I know it weren't you smoking. You sound way too smart to burn your money especially as you've just arrived and would likely still be converting every pound you spend into Naira lol. Definitely not you at ₦272 for a ciggy at ₦454.73 to a pound!
