At Last! after all the read up here on Nairaland and other sources including from real farmers I decided to open this trend to show off my own step by step practicals on tomato cultivation.

I will need assistance in terms of what to do when there are issues as the journey of my
tomatoes moves on because is going to be live with pictures of activities and progress.

I want to thank @Jidestroud for inspiring me both on NL and Whatsapp
Also @Okoroemeka the pepperman.
@Ogbongenet
@Olamimo12
@Jethro2
@pistotito the analyst
And numerous others.

Your advice would be appreciated.

God bless the works of your hands.

It is always good and refreshing to see we have some youths in the country working hard and securing their future.

This is just the beginning of good things in your life man.
Keep up the good work.

The medium I used is pure water sachet and about 27 disposable cup

I used 1 seed per sachet

To save time, though lazy approach due to insufficient sachet I planted 4 seeds per sachet on few remaining nylon.

The result for d single seed and four seeds will be revealed, these will enable me\us make better informed decisions

I used pig dung 2 shovels to 10 shovels soil

Instead of perforating I used scissors to cut open the two tail ends at the bottom so if the nylon sits the water will drip at both ends. just my method.

Tomatoes Mona F1 Update pictorial view.....

1. While still in nursery bed @ 4 wks ( I have some opv 40 seedlings that I saw in my pepper nursery I broadcasted on the 9th Feb they are 6 wks old)

2. About 100 seedlings where transplanted on Heaps with manure mixed in the planting hole while 25 seedlings where transplanted on bed without manure mixed in the planting hole (I want to see d difference both opv and hybrid with and without manure.

3. Tomatoes in nursery nylon on heap and after been transplanted on head and on the bed.

4. The height while in the grow nylon and after the grow nylon is removed ( You will see the rooting nature)

5. The tool used to dig the heap and bed open also included. It was a wonderful tool a must have

I guess this may help

The farm was solarized after it was burnt with fire.

I guess that should suffice. I welcome any other method as well.

Thanks

Ok. But the nursery bed shud be specially treated by piling up dry grass on it and burning. U don't want to nurse plants for weeks and later find out that they have root knot nematodes or so.

Sure if you check my earlier message that is the first thing I did, burn fire of the portion used for the nursery bed.

But some do experience RKN despite burning the portion to be used for the nursery what do you think is the cause

Maybe the soil did not get hot enof bc they did not use enof dry grass. If the heat did not penetrate deep enof, the unheated parts will soon reinfect the heated parts

hahaha,

this meat griller is really something else.

I pray he sees how unreliable and pandemic this APC government he so speak about truelly are.

He is the exact opposite in every politcal thread here in nairaland.

Always commenting like an outcast that just came back to the country some few days ago,

without even knowing how worst the situation of the government is before spitting trash we know him for

i see him getting mass beatings very soon in real life,

or does he think nigerians are really happy with this frustrated and clueless government?

Tomatoes usually takes 3 months before harvesting.
The local tomatoes where broadcasted on bed on the 9th of Feb while the hybrid Mona F1 was nursed in pure water nylon on the 24th so harvest should from 9th of May.

Note this is the second project on my tomatoes farm trend the first has long been harvested but then no time to give any update I planted P701 then.
