This is the double standards that exist in Nigeria.
I dare anyone especially those who are saying Amotekun is not legal, or constitutional to show me which part of the "Arewa" constitution of Nigeria that was amended to accommodate the borono vigilante? And North western region hisbah police?

Supporters of Mr Malami and his cabal members over to you, Defend this!

Atouke:

Hisbah exists because it is there to watch that the neighborhood religious sharia codes are enforced.

Do you no longer believe hisbah is legal? Even if that's case the federal government should just ban all these illegal state security agencies by your logic. This why I say the ultimate solution is to amend the constitution to allow any tier of government to have their own police force and prisons. It also be smart to amend exclusive list item 2 and 1990 fire arms act. Stop the half measures and just do the hard work.

Non sharia state representatives should just pass a law. They have the numbers for a veto proof majority. Nobody would say no to having a bigger piece of pie.

For the Hisbah, they were legalized by their respective State Houses of Assembly.
Sometimes we need to be objective.

The Western governors have realized this and they are making efforts to get their respective HOA to pass a bill on that.

That way it will be a stalemate if it gets to court

The challenge is the pseudo-regional structure of amotekun. Each of the 6 states should have separate units with some form of headquarters. By making it states based, each governor can cater to the different needs of each state while the hq can handle information and strategy for interstate crimes and disputes.

Each southwest state can establish it own Amotekun through their respective house of assemblies, but not as a regional Amotekun

The business is very obvious. There is two legal basis for governance in Nigeria today: sharia-law for the core northern region and the constitution for others.

That's what has happen! Amotekun consists of neighborhood watches in all the 6 states of the south west making the western security network.
