My brother sent me a parcel from abroad using FedEx freight shipment in the parcel he stashed $4800 in it when the parcel arrived at Nigeria at there headquarters in abuja I was asked to pay custom fee which was N17750 and home delivery N15750 after that I was mailed that after unboxing and reboxing for clearance money was found and it placed on ban and I can't go to abuja to claim it because am in Lagos please what should I do. Who are the neccesary agency I can talk to. Nairalander please help me out.
If he used FedEx to send the mail, then meet FedEx and ask them how far with your parcel. If you know your hands are clean, do as I've said, no sane person will arrest an innocent person if you prove yourself innocent well enough o. Copy me with your feedback.

U fall for this scam in 2020?

Scam that has been used since 2008 chai...

Ur money don burn.

My cousin stashed cash of 1k dollars in a PS to me sometime back in 2006

Tracking the courier online it arrived Nigeria after two weeks but we did not see parcel for 6 weeks ..

I went to festac post office to complain and was asked to check at NAHCO at the airport.

Lo and behold the parcel was there but custom siezed it because they found cash in it ..

I was told the arcel can't move with the cash so I had to tip customs 200$ and collected 800 for myself ..

So if O P story happens to be true NAHCO should have been where he would be refffered to because any parcel coming in and out of Nigeria moves through the National aviation handling company by Lagos international airport .

What happened to western union, money gram, Worldremit . Com, so many money sending companies.

Your Brother must be wanting to keep the money hidden that’s why he didn’t follow any of the above means.

Or as those who know have said, there’s a scam involved

Two corolla for $4,800 shocked

Where?

Avoid long procedure.

The question is, did his brother tell him he sent money and if yes, did he also know his brother is based in Abuja before sending it there?

How is this a scam?

Because the person isn't his brother. It's a very old scam ...he probably met the person on eskimi or facebook.

The first payment is the custom fees, followed by the delivery fee which he's paid ...next is to pay maybe 10 percent of the money to claim that money that was seized by customs . I knew guys that were doing this during my undergrad days

You and your brother should just forget the money. Why would he stash the money in goods he's delivering to you? To custom its money laundering. Cash and commodities are not meant to be on the same package. Your brother should have used western union or any other agents in the country that do transfers to any bank nationwide. Bye bye to the American dollar. You ain't gonna see it again. I'm 100%certain.
