This hungry kids won't let us sleep at Agege in the night. Police should show them a cop rat, perhaps they will be scared of coming outdoor for awhile.

Are they sure they are actually the robbers?
Cos I don't trust Nigerian police.
They could have simply caught anybody walking around that area and packed them in a van, and come and parade them as the armed robbers.
That's their usual way of catching "armed robbers".
same thing i was thinking

If you check properly you will find among them street traders and hawkers who have not been able to go out to fend for themselves daily as they used to do,maybe they were lieft out of the hand-out provided by the both FG and state government or it was not enough to satisfy their needs.I am not making excuses for them or encouraging criminality but this lockdown is contributing to the high crime rate.Government must do more to reach out to this vulnerable group while this lockdown lasts.

You are making excuses for criminals.
These kinds of guys robbed people, looted and burned shops because of South African's xenophobic attacks last year.
Was there a lockdown then?

You should be grateful that they are being removed from the street.
They will eat you raw if given the opportunity.

The best option for Nigeria is to enforce compulsory facemasks and hand gloves! That's what is happening in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Singapore, and these countries have achieved better control than the rest, despite recording their first cases from the very beginning.

Again, you guys are about to "copy" another system. Since that is what we are good at. We're copycats in this part of the world. Never original. Lockdown: we copied from China and Europe. Result: Nigeria is getting a serious blackeye from it.

Next... it's "compulsory facemask and gloves", exorbitant as they are these days because Singapore and Bhutan are doing it... smiley lol

And when they eventually issue the "compulsory" facemask and handgloves directive, it will still be the same Nigerians that will cry foul.

Truth is both the government and the governed are confused. Both the governed and the government are ___

Feel free to feel in the gap.

They are still suspects except convicted by law. This is not a police report.. they might be passerbys at the wrong time but if found guilty.. they should face the law

Why still keeping them alive? Pls release stray bullet at a closer point and waste them all and tag it accidental end of story.

I repeat any parent that fail to train his son should be ready to mourn him.

Those who declared lockdown these animals did not go to their houses to rob them but tobbing the poor ones whom their life is already at the brinks of hunger death due to lockdown.

Pls no forgiveness for them. They want to die the police should help them to the grave.

You don't get my point, do you?

I doubt that. But if the people and the government can't simply agree on a stance towards the elimination of this little menace, then we can jolly well adopt your option. Looks totally workable to me.

As far as I am concerned, no system can work in Nigeria without the people whining or the government fumbling. Country is somewhat stuck in a traffic jam.

How about that? smiley I maintain both government and governed are ___

Today Joyce is hosting a show today on radio and the topic of discussion is why do whites discriminates blacks and boom I open nairaland and I see this thread and I am like what the hell !!!

Blacks will always be blacks. Imagine in a lockdown where people are supposed to help each other to get over this pandemic some people are using it as an avenue to enrich themselves
Just before these guys some people are busy scamming people of their hard earned money by sending links to Nigerians claiming they will get 10k from government and its so sad
Our governments are not left out, they spend all our money to make lives easy for themselves forgetting that the countries they go and flex with our money wasn't made in one day. They Go there and see how good these countries are and instead of them to come back and make our countries better they still decide not to.
Blacks will always be black and we are the cause of our own downfall.

yes we can - it just so happens our corpses may be among those littered in the street

there is no manual for dealing with this. you are a nigerian, and you know this country due to years of looting and non investment in the health sector is sitting on a time bomb.

there are no real answers here.
