Those who are encouraging this lockdown to be extended are mainly people who are financially secured.

If you are a daily earner or monthly earner that is working for private one man business. You will reason differently.

If you are one of those people that Jamaican reggae singer, Jimmy Cliff described as "STRUGGLING MAN"

Then you should not support the extension of the lockdown.

Let Nigeria political leaders open the economy.

Politicans falsly claiming to represent us are feeding fat on our collective Commonwealth while they continued to deceive President Buhari with false statistics that justify the extension of the lockdown.

Crude oil price has fallen while President Buhari and state governors across the 36 state keep the economy under lockdown.

Oga malaria kill 300k people yearly in Nigeria...Covid has killed only 12 people nationally since a month its been here. lets use social distancing and face mask...Nigeria government itself will go broke if they continue this...have you heard of the vicious circle?

Lol... it’s quite funny, well u made ur choice. Melinda Gates said there’ll b dead bodies litered in the street of Africa, she’s 100% correct

Nah... It is not about me. I speak the reality facing this nation!!! There is a limit to how far we can pretend.

Imposing lock down and curfews in the face of unpaid salaries, zero incomes, zero businesses, and zero palliatives, will never work in a third world nation where over 70% live from hand to mouth (Can't overemphasize this enough)!!!

As for Mrs. Gates' words, if she were 100% correct, as you choose to believe, then with a population of over 200 million, infection spread that started since early March (Almost 2 months), viral incubation period of 2-14 days (Max 21 - 28 days), we ought to have started seeing the following by now:

1. Widespread presentation of symptoms among the population (Lagos alone ought to have at least 500 people complaining of mild to severe symptoms).
2. Hospitalizations, especially ICUs, across the nation at an exponential rate (Lagos alone ought to have at least 500 in critical condition).
3. After 2 months of viral spread, death rate should or ought to be at minimum of 6 to 10 %.

I am not a betting man, but if you wish, I can stake you that even if left unchecked, we won't have up to a hundred deaths by June, not to speak of "Bodies littering the streets"!!!... If America didn't have bodies littering their streets at the massive rate of hospitalizations and critical conditions of their infected, how can Nigeria come to such when over 95% of our infected rarely move from isolation wards to ICUs??! That's even the few they have managed to confirm out of the numerous infected since March.

There’s a solution to hunger, govt can work on it easily, what do u think will be the solution if the lock down is canceled and the number of infected cases increases, tell me.

what is the govt doing about hunger currently?
do you know the percentage of nigerians that survive on their daily income?
i personally can stay months indoors and also shout lockdown but i wont
its inhumane to think everyone can survive a lockdown cause you got what to eat

They can extend the lockdown if they can give at least 100k to every needy Nigerians and give them 2 days to shop under strict adherence to safety measures. All the billionaires should donate for this course otherwise they also will not be spared when the spread reaches overwhelming rate.

The US has tested over 4 million persons. Still their health experts have said until the US have enough testing capabilities to test everyone the economy shouldn't be opened.

Our government is fighting this the wrong way. Either ways, the economy suffers. Lift the lockdown now and we will see the resurgence and massive increase of confirmed cases and because of our poor testing ability, more persons will get infected really fast and same economy you're trying to protect now will suffer more then.

Let's not even forget the current struggle with falling oil prices. If we survive this we have bigger issues to worry about.

My take is, this lockdown should stay until we are sure we can test more persons.
Hungry will kill more than corona. You cannot stop the virus it can only be slowed down my facemask etc. Let the government open and enforce facemask and social distancing. Corona is not a death sentence 99 percent survive. Its mortality rate is less than malaria so why all the panic?

Thank my friend. He should relax the lockdown and allow them to face it. People are dying everywhere and someone is agitating for lockdown relaxation. A reasonable person will struggle for surviving first b4 thinking of income or business. Even, if to be drinking Gari and Kulikuli, I'm okay with Fg decision. I don't want to die, I will try to live.

Practically, there is no effective lockdown at all anywhere in Nigeria presently. The aim of lockdown is to curtail community transmission which has been ongoing even before coronavirus was christened covid-19.

If we had a working death registry in Nigeria before the disease gained media prominence we would have easily realised that its effect is negligible. 28 deaths from covid-19 complications over a month. Someone should please publish the number of deaths from severe malaria nationwide over the last two weeks.

End lockdown. Make face mask compulsory and encourage people to wash thier hands frequently. Life goes on.
Malaria kills more than corona it's media hype that is sustaining the virus.

Don't be like this. Just because you have your house & account stuffed with food and money, you think all is well?

I saw someone who hadn't eaten for 2+ days straight, people had to help him to even sit. Majority of Nigerians earn daily. Almost a month, no shishi made. Which is better, to die of disease or to die of hunger while govt officials give their own peeps packages.

Put yourself in those people's shoes before you judge. What would it cost to give everyone with BVN just 25k/Month compare to all the money they're wasting and asking people to stay at home.

1. The danger of COVID-19 becoming widespread still lurking as daily tests reveal more cases especially in Lagos State.

2. However, in the face of insufficient government palliatives , any attempt to extend the presidential lockdown will be ill-advised because people are now merely hanging in there and waiting agonizingly for midnight of Monday 27 April. Hell will be let loose if extension happens.

3. Given the basic nature of our economy, it might be dangerous for businesses to have too long a downtime as government may not be able to give massive stimulus.

It is catch-22 situation but times like these are why people stood in the sun to vote for some people.
You are ignorant, covid is here to stay in d world and naijas has over 100,000 undictated cases here since 2019 but yu are still alive. You snd your likes are govt supporters harmin this nation with lies and evil policies.Beware of repacursion dont support anti people govt policy.

Never assume the worst. No hell will be let loose if govt extends the lockdown. Humans are selfish and would always want what's best for him/her. Govt on the other hand wants what's best for all. People are hungry, I get it, but trust me, no one wants to put himself at a disadvantage position with govt.
Govt is hit the hardest with the lockdown.
With no vaccine against COVID-19, human race is on the brink of extinction. Extreme situation requires extreme measures. I support any measure by govt to curb the spread. This is the only option available to us.
Human has a tendency to adjust and adapt to any situation. After God is govt.
Humans at the brink of extinction over a virus that has a less mortality rate than malaria? Check the numbers and see its all hype.

Like Newyork Governor said, death is death, economy can always be dealth with. When covid kills u, u die period. U dont get a second chance to be revived. Bottomline: people are more important than any economy sir.
for how long you wanna lockdown?. The same governor Cuomo said that; lockdown, social distancing, face masks is not over until vaccine is produced and vaccine is not available until up to 2yrs from now.

Now, can Nigeria and Nigerians sustain till then?. And Africa makes no move to produce their own vaccine. They are waiting for White man to do the research and buy vaccine for billions of dollars at the expense of another loan
