Terrible This is total nonesense. Why in hell is the govt paying for hotels for all these people? Fly them in and let them go home and self isolate. The Nigerian govt is already way less than all other govts in flying their people back home. The US govt will charge 1800 dollars for kids and 2400 dollars for Adults just to fly to DC and that's it, you are on you own once you land in DC. Find your way home even if you live in Cali. The UK govt charged 550 pounds for a one way back to the UK and must be paid up front. The Nigerian govt charged only 425 pounds fro flight from London to Lagos then fly them to Abuja for quarantine for 14 days in hotel paid for by the govt. Then plan to fly most back to Lagos after the 14 days. Complete waste of money that the govt doesn't have. Worst part is these people are not even going to appreciate all the govt gestures. Fly them in and let them go home and self isolate, the govt can't afford to paying for hotel and feeding for 4000 people for 14 days. That's CRAZY. 2 Likes |

When are we going to get serious in this country for goodness sake? Why should that amount of money (a billion) be used to feed and house returnees from foreign country. At best, just subsidize the cost for them. These people aren't paupers. Think about what a billion can do if rightly used for the masses. |

This returnees will die of hunger and lack of shelter. I trust my currupt Nigerian government with their failed promises . If they know what is good for them, they should find better alternative on their own. 1 Like |

Of course!! Any means to embezzle!! Are CBN and NNPC registered charities? Are the funds they will use theirs to spend? CBN, what happens to the donation by banks and why should NNPC join to support when there are COVID donations by banks Thieving bastards |

This is rubbish and the height of irresponsibility on the part of FG! Are these government organs not supposed to have a clean bill and accountable to the last kobo?! If this government is not encouraging corruption, where do they expect CBN and NNPC to get the funds to shoulder the costs of the returnees? Now, I think I see why that Umar Farouk girl is acting with gross impunity, and I can now reason with ASUU on their fight with FG! Kai! Buhari has lost it! 2 Likes 1 Share |

How do you know American government charged their citizens evacuation fee? The same American government pays every adult citizens $1200 including foreign national who are in their country legally. Nigerian government has yet to pay citizens money and little kind gesture like this, people like you call it waste of money. Guess the type of government we have in Nigeria fit people like you... seunmsg: |
