This is ridiculous. Mali is only still in its present form because of the multinational UN force keeping back the Tuareg separatists and jihadists. These men used a few APCs and technicals (pickup with mounted gun) to topple their irresponsible govt. That will not secure them against MUJAO ISGS and Al Qaeda. They failed woefully fighting the jihadists.

Their goal should be to make Mali better. Allow the ppl's will to hold sway. Anything less is Keita 2.0. France can pare down its presence and allow iihadist gains to teach these boys a lesson. The country is cash poor and cannot spend its way to safety or prosperity..

During the previous regime, when Boko Haram killings became too much, I suggested on fbk that Military should take over the govt if that would stop the killings. And, one elder said that the worst of Democratic rule is better than the best of Military rule. I don't know if it's true or not.

If military rule will make things work for them, I am totally in support of it. If democratic rule will not work, I'd kick against it. It's high time we stopped copying the Western world and do something that will work well for us by charting a new course in our continent and country's own growth part. Military does not progress any country, it leaves the country stagnant giving it a deceitful appealing appearance, democracy is a learned process the more it fail the wiser it becomes

The news said protesters were happy for ouster of the Keita..which means he was the problem. With him gone the people are happy and okay.

The west should sit down and settle the problem and protest rocking the Minsk in Belarus.. where protesters are calling for the resignation of a 26 year rule from Lukashenko (President) who insulted his citizens that, "they are dispersing away like rats". What did they do about that..?
