Restructure. Buhari Right In Referring Issue To NASS. by NGpatriot: 1:51am On Oct 06, 2020 |
All the busybody pastors, angry election losers, lazy Nigerian youths, people with zero knowledge about the laws and the constitution of Nigeria, it is not the President's job to restructure, this is the job of the National Assembly according to the constitution, they make laws and the president obeys. |
Re: Restructure. Buhari Right In Referring Issue To NASS. by NGpatriot: 2:03am On Oct 06, 2020 |
Why people are attacking the president over restructuring beats me, restructuring is the job of the NASS, but you leave NASS alone to crucify the president. If you want to restructure, why not take your case to NASS, they are your elected mouthpiece and representatives, you vote for and elect them to carry out your wishes, like restructure. Now, when was the last time you challenged your reps and senators to tender, deliberate and pass restructure or constitutional amendment bill? Just imagine, a society full or supposedly educate people ranting and lamenting, attacking the President for not doing other people's job even after educating you that the right place to take your grievance to is the National Assembly. How do you achieve anything as a people if you lack basic knowledge about the Nigerian constitution, separation of powers and basic civic education? This Is really embarrassing and extremely shameful. 3 Likes |

National assembly is not authorized to write a new constitution. That job belongs to a constituent assembly of the various nationalities. 2 Likes |

jerseyboy: = Legislature, elected representatives. You are wrong, the job belongs to the National assembly aka the legislature and they've amended our constitution several times. Btw, the topic is restructure, not writing a new constitution. 3 Likes |

NGpatriot: Legislatures make Laws to GOVERN based on previously agreed constitution. A constituent assembly or constitutional assembly is a body or assembly of popularly elected representatives which is assembled for the purpose of drafting or adopting a constitution or similar document. Again, National assembly is not authorized to write a new constitution. That job belongs to a constituent assembly of the various nationalities. 2 Likes |

jerseyboy: How does this irrelevant post alter the fact that the responsibility to restructure Nigeria belongs to the Nigerian legislature? Do you have documented facts or news references to dispute my assertions with? So where is your logic? Or baseless word of mouth is your definition for logic? You are not making any sense. |

Nigerians need to first seek civic education about their country, about the 3 arms of government and separation of powers before lashing and throwing tantrums in the wrong direction. If you want to restructure Nigeria, face the National assembly and your elected reps. |

Read and digest carefully, this is from the Nigerian constitution. Take your anger and frustration to NASS, the constitution can only be amended by NASS, not the President.

Can some one tell me If restructuring is in our constitution ? If non !!!! the best easiest way to get it is to pray we have another military rule which will negate our present constitutions so they can input it in the arrangements of new constitutions bcs all these our greedy politicians can never consider what can remove present unaccountable Yams from their mouths.

adekolaelect: The Federal Military Government by Decree No. 24 of 1999 promulgated the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria(Promulgation) Decree 1999 whereby the 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (the Constitution) came into being. Even though the same military saddled you with the deplorable constitution you are ranting against today, you want them to come back and give you another constitution by decree? This is why they say Nigerian youths are not ready to rule. 1 Like |
