There is growing security concern about the recklessness going on here on Nairaland. They are using nairaland to promote a completely different agenda and they don't care if many properties gets destroyed or many get killed by their antics.
Stop enabling them.

So you are saying that no one died right? All those with blood stained clothes, all the amateur video footage that was making around, was that a movie trick? Why are you like this?
I am saying that so far the most credible news media report is from channels TV that reported from the scene in Lekki. That the report didn't state that people died and corpses litter everywhere.
It is not impossible if people died but we pray it us not so.
Most Importantly my appeal is for peace.
There was even more violence elsewhere in Lagos yesterday than Lekki but either way, nobody should rejoice over the death of anyone .

I'm a barrack boy and I know what the armies are capable of doing, believe me those guys weren't wearing the NA badge but something else however their level of organization and composure shows they are really soldiers who for sure went to do an odd job.
I'm certain it's not an executive order, but for sure they are soldiers, real soldiers..

We have a lot to lose here in Lagos if we don't have peace. We are very hardworking and socially conscious more than you think and if you know our history.
Lagos was the home of the thinkers of Project Nigeria and little wonder that despite our flaws as a nation, we have overtaken nations older than Nigeria on this continent.

We want peace in Lagos and we will support our governor to restore peace.

Okay. Thank you. This is completely different from the account of Olu Phillips of Channels TV right from the scene at news at 10pm yesterday night and their tweet below.
It brings to the fore the more reason for calm and peace.

We don't rejoice over the death of anyone. Even the worst of wars still ended with a ceasefire. All my appeal is for peace to avoid deaths.

No one was rejoicing over people's death... But I have the impression that you were upset that people were giving out information that was supposed to be hidden,...

The Bukola Saraki that called what was done a massacres, are you implying that he was misinformed?.. Hillary Clinton that twitted that they should stop killing armless youth, was she also misinformed because I believe someone of with her status/ class will verify every information first before talking...

My brother, I suggest u just stop talking because you are annoying the sensibility of some readers here.. I don't know what you are desperately trying to sweep under the carpet but it's not working.. I believe you are not a troll but if you are then you've caught me off-guard ..

This is a technological era where almost everyone now is a reporter, smart phones have saved lots of lives around the world... once you got your video to prove or back your claim up... You don't need channel or whatever you call it... U should be horrified by all the picture and video making around.. the pictures of those men that removed the CCTV Camera should have triggered something in you to know that there could be a foul play... the footage of the military men shooting on those armature footage with live Ammunition

I am absolutely right by quoting a credible source. I am absolutely right too suing for peace to stop further deaths.
It already started when the protests was hijacked by arsonists and hoodlums.
We don't want more death. The Sarakis you are quoting don't have their children on the streets so I will take their account with a pinch of salt.
We want peace and it is my appeal . Let there be peace please.

Please calm down. There is no point killing ourselves after several mistakes and lives lost. It seems all our suffering supporting the protests led to the death of some innocent people and it is wise for us to have a rethink.
The governor should not have allowed Lagosians go through that long suffering for 13 days and still ended with a curfew. What was he waiting for all these days?
I really pray there will be no death and happy until now because the life of everyone is important.

It is really so so sad. People fuelled all these now and did not do enough to intervene or offer to mediate before soldiers moved in. The clerics buying food and drinks should have offered to mediate before 4pm at least but now they used Twitter and nairaland to create trouble yet hid their own children.

Yea.. You have every right to quote a credible source.. just the way the protesters have the right to protest and voice out their displeasure... is that not what democracy was all about?

Maybe you should double check on your source right now because I guess they have updated their information.. I understand you.. we all are looking for peace in this nation.. But please don't ever repeat it that no one died... i see it as a disrespect on those that lost their lives simply because they were nameless.. They are still Citizens of Nigeria.

I quoted Saraki because he is a popular figure in Nigeria and you knew what I was implying.. Yes his kids may not have been on the street but that doesn't mean he was lying.. He may have made a name for himself and his family without caring for others.. That I understand.. but what about the families that got no name and voices that were been harass or killed daily by the police? are you saying that the youth should have stayed and watch the continuous brutality go on?

Thank you. I don't get what is funny about the whole incident.
Since you did not bother to ask. He was their only reporter at the scene. If you watch channels TV coverage of that Lekki protest, you will not ask such question because you would have known he is their only reporter covering that spot and giving live account on TV. I did not state that he is the only reporter of Channels TV. I quoted him for what he reported and thst is all sir.
Any way, that is just saying the truth about his report. The main appeal is to beg you to support the government effort at restoring peace.
I sincerely wish no death was recorded and I was relieved when he did not report death or corpses at the scene.
We will not rejoice over the death of anyone and I pray for peace in Lagos and Nigeria.

He was lying about the massacre part and trust politicians always wanting to take advantage of the people's misery.

Even Punch quoted 7 deaths at Lekki on the account of protesters not that they saw the corpses.I have repeatedly stated that it is not impossible that people will die, all I wanted were credible news media or a counter news from Channels TV because we both know how social media can not be trusted for these kinds of news.

I feel that he as one of those leaders who perhaps were urging people to ignore the curfew could have intervened to mediate before the soldiers moved in.I think everything was terribly wrong from the protesters without exit strategy to government allowing people suffer for days before declaring a curfew to the hoodlums who hijacked the protest. The death in other parts of Lagos were far more because it later led to another war.

Yesterday is truly a sad day and it was as if while all eyes were on Lekki, far more carnage was going on elsewhere in Lagos.

Strangely the politicians conveniently distracted us.

I am glad we are on the same page about need for peace. That is so important to save more lives.
I sympathise with those who lost loved ones. It is truly sad.

those boys and girls would have listened to the wise words of eleders if they had been warned and they would have left after 2 weeks most especially after the jail breaking occurrences , but many clerics, politicians and elites saw the protest as a way of winning fame and popularity and there fore encouraged those youth to continue with the protest WHEREAS THEY DIDN'T STAY THERE WITH THEM AND THEY MADE SURE THEIR CHILDREN WERE NOT AMONG THOSE PROTESTING
