I hope this will reduce the cost of cement from 4k to 1.5k. It's just crazy how the government allow Dangote play around the prices of a commodity that should be cheap because about 90% of the components needed to produce the cement is in country and it's purchased in Naira. Why all of sudden cement prices just increased by 100% and CPC isn't saying anything about it to help the consumers they were made to protect ?

Nigerian industrialists always picking the easiest option.
Let's all build cement factories, spaghetti factories and refineries cos that's the only thing we need. They'll sell quite alright, but the lack of thinking outside the box continually astounds me.

So, what should industrialists in the country with the highest number of poor people invest their money into? Space exploration? Rocket propellers production?

I wonder why non of these Nigerian industries situate their plants and factories in the Eastern States. Are there no lands to build companies?

The major factor that determines location of an industry is availability of raw material, so maybe the raw materials are scarce in South East region
just my thoughts

before you wonder and think on tribal lines have you cared to know how many eastern states has limestone and in large quantities needed to run a cement factory... Or you want a factory in Enugu then limestone will be transported daily from far far away to feed it makng the product more expensive so u can shout Buhari

Plants/companies is best situated close to major source of raw materials for optimum productivity

bro you are a Nigerian. You can start building your own dream industries and manage it in this economy.

Why is it so easy for people to criticize the work of another without being able to lift a finger. Do you know what $1bn he's investing means anywhere in the world?

Reiterate again, they're not innovative. There are many industries Nigeria lack.

There are many. Advise to study models or industries that would support industrialisation.

When the price of cement is very cheap in Nigeria compared to international price for neighbourhood countries, there will be tendency for smuggling across borders.

So, how will dangote and bua sell their cement to neighbourhood countries?

This is exactly what happened to petrol during fuel subsidy regime.
A loss to federal government and profit to smugglers.

why don't you leave energy
We have enough oil companies doing that.
Why don't you innovate and set up foundry?
Since it's easy
Set up heavy industry na.

I guess the comment flew over your head. I essentially 'innovated' hence I'm not in the stereotypical oil industry. 'Energy' extends beyond that.

If you could also read between the lines, maybe people like you would see gaps in the markets. Start from Stears NG, Medium NG et al.
