Which masses are you talking about? The same masses that already enter bus from Lagos to Ibadan for atleast 2k (from Berger) and 3k (from Ajah)?? Besides, it's not for everyone. Since you prefer entering buses that's fine. Those that prefer the train will keep using it.

2k bus from Berger? I'd rather opt for rail.

1. Soyinka and every other Nigerians are paying for the loan, therefore, PMB is not doing us a favour.

2. In 1984, Buhari, as Head of State, cancelled the Metro rail line initiated by PA Jakande. Therefore, I will not celebrate the recklessness of 84 which he has come back to rectify even at a much higher human and capital costs. SW would have been better linked and developed via several rail networks.

3. Buhari is only paying back the debt he owed Lagos.

-Osu amaka

With night buses, an estimation of 7,000 ibos are ferried to Lagos, and 10,000 to other parts of SW on a daily.
With train, half the population of SE would most likely overcrowd the entire SW region.

I therefore suggest that the State's houses of Assembly propose an immigration law with a strong provision to possess and rename two of any SE states as an Annex to SW as a relief for both economic and infrastructure overburden on the SW region.

you are still wailing

Don't mind him. Some people are just consumed with making a government they hate look bad by any means possible.

2.5k for comfort, security, no delay, no police extortion, no bandit ambush/waylaying etc, etc.

They should make the train ride sef 10 Kobo. Their talk is all just a deliberate attempt to move focus away from the good work of the PMB government their messiah GEJ and PDP did not see fit to deliver over 16 years in charge.

This project was on the drawing board throughout GEJ's term in office, but he didn't even bother to touch it even though he earned more money from oil than any other leader or president in the history of Nigeria.

Sadly, with all that money, he did not build, fund or construction anything apart from his almajiri classrooms in the North.

By the time he left office, he was borrowing hundreds of billions every month to pay workers salary.

We didn't even have to borrow to fund railway projects in every corner of Nigeria

Just imagine that N51 Trillion under PMB?

Maybe you should start working with facts in future instead of harming your own interest and that of others with ignorance and/or mischief.

Even if they made the train ride 200 Naira, disgruntled/bitter Nigerians and haters of the PMB/APC government would still find something to complain and be negative about.

Don't mind him. Lagos to Ibadan is 2.5k. Expect to pay less than that for Lagos to Abeokuta. The only problem is that online booking and information provision is really poor from the NRC.

You need to physically go to their Ebute Metta Station to get info and book at the moment. Never believe most private comments on Nairaland or even online in general. They just spread fake info to suit their agenda of making something or someone look good/bad.

Lol. He is right though. No Train provision for SE should pass through anywhere in the SW lol.

With 20000 of them flooding the SW daily on buses, train services through our region simply means the SE will empty overnight lol.

You come across as quite emotional and daft! You sure you’re Yoruba? Reason i’m asking is, given what we know today, i find it incredulous that a Yoruba, with his head screwed on right, will say he prefers a rail link with the core north to one linking up with the south-east! Your rabid hatred of Igbos will be your undoing! smiley

Mumu. You think I am one of the unexposed Yorubas who believes Igbos are more valuable migrants to the SW than others?

You don't pay taxes, you flood the market with fake, inferior and poor quality goods from China and you guys never employ non-Igbos even on SW soil thereby constituting yourselves into economic saboteurs and parasites. It is the reason the Ghanaians government don't want you in Ghana. You don't pay taxes and you never employ Ghanaians.

Furthermore, it is you guys alone always nursing malevolent takeover/usurpation of political power from the Yorubas in their own land. Something you intolerant people are vehemently against in your SE.

Your so-called benefits to the SW are fake and mythical like the average Igbo is. Try your scaremongering about Northerners with unexposed Yorubas. Minus violent bandit-type, most Northerners are no worse than Igbos.

Don't mind the n1tw1t. He does not know that modern, well-read and astute Yorubas now see through their fake life of "Lagos will crash without Igbos" and actually want them gone.

Nothing but economic saboteurs yet they will go around claiming they have 'developed' every geographical area on earth but their own States and region of origin.

Ghana is the best example of a government that does not have to tolerate the negative economic practices of Igbos, as Lagos and SW Nigeria has to do, kicking them out of Ghanaian markets and not being fazed by their blackmail.

Why can't they begin by leading the effort? Can Igbos not all return to the SE and stay there as a show of seriousness towards the attainment of Biafra?

Does charity no longer begin at home or does it make sense for Igbos to be shouting Biafra from every damn nation and corner of the world but their own native region of SE Nigeria?

You can't want independence while running from the land you want to be independent, this itself is duplicitous behavior you speak of... If you guys are really serious about getting biafra, a mass boycotting of all parts of nigeria and return to your 5 states should be the act of all biafrans, take a leaf from the Jews you love to claim and make the first step in leaving the Egypt or the zoo like you love to call it and go back to your 5 state promise Land, you guys are the only Jews that doesn't want to leave Egypt. grin

Every region in Nigeria must be connected by rail including the SE, but no region in Nigeria need that train pass Lagos/Ibadan because tha expressway which is the most important, most used and the most critical road in Nigeria, the railway lessens the pressure on the expressway, reduce accidents, easy movement of goods and services into and out of Lagos.

This to me is the best investment in the history of Nigeria and the fact that we built this 156km railway in less than 4 years is another great achievement.

I have been waiting for this since for years now, and I can't explain how overjoyed I am. I am using it for the first time on Thursday...from Moniya in Ibadan to Lagos. I can't wait.

Tiring and tedious. They are like cult members who are under the spell or hypnotic brainwashing of a manipulative leader.

Same indolent, weak, hugely corrupt and shamelessly inept Jonathan they continue to hype to high heaven while attacking Buhari who has done more in 5 years than several PDP Presidents combined have done in 16 years. Hate is a terrible mind-bender.
