All we need now is to invest heavily in usage of Solar energy. Thank you. there is an international organization that is in charge of regulating that. It's not like we are going to run it all alone, we will be regulated. Look at Iran that went out of there way to do it, how did it end? Some people may be afraid that terrorist will hijack it for nuclear weapon, but that's not possible because the technology and fund that is needed to enrich uranium from the grade used for commercial purpose to the grade used for weapon is something Nigeria can not afford not to talk of individuals or terrorists. ...and as a country, once you start that enrichment program, the world will know. Once you begin to source for the technology, fund and uranium for the program, the world will definitely know and they will come for you. Go and ask Iran what they saw doing the Uranium enrichment program!!! Nigeria can go nuclear for commercial purposes. Once there is nuclear reactors generating electricity, the national grid most be upgraded by force so as to distribute the electricity. |

Nigeria can go nuclear for commercial purposes. Once there is nuclear reactors generating electricity, the national grid most be upgraded by force so as to distribute the electricity. What a laudable write up, an excellent proposal. It seems you do not know what some element that you live with can do to remain in power. Iran that you made mention of are not having Boko Haram, Iswap, Herdsmen, school children kidnapping etc. Tell us one infrastructure we are able to maintain in Nigeria without breakdown? Remember the refineries, textile mills, Nigeria airways, university decay and ASUU strike, Niger Delta pollution etc etc. We lack maintenance culture apart from terrorists ruling us. It is easy to start nuclear plant but, dangerous to maintain and graveous to handle the waste products coming from nuclear plant. Solar is eco friendly. Thank you. |

NASTYNASOSO: The project is largely financed by the Chinese CCECC with the Nigerian government contributing 15% worth $194 Million Dollars as its counterpart funding andit will be recalled that President Muhammadu Buhari approved and paid this money at once to ensure the speedy completion of this Project. At the bolded, please stop misinforming the general public. It was the GEJ's administration that paid the counterpart funding for the project. Shikena:
Absolutely untrue. Zungeru was 'officially' conceived in 1982 under the government of Shehu Shagari so can't be someone's 'brainchild' 30 years later, I won't even be surprised if the project was already lying on someone's desk long before 1982. It was never implemented due to dwindling resources that led to austerity measures by the government. The project was revisited and approved by Goodluck Jonathan's government in 2012 and agreement signed with the Chinese partners in 2013. On paying the counterpart funding in full.... I no know book but we were making lots of money from oil back then so it's possible.... just don't bet on it... regardless, it's a project of the federal government of Nigeria
I agree with you on that. It wasn't really the brainchild of GEJ's administration. The plan has always been there along with the Gurara, Mambilla and Kashimbilla hydro power plants. But we can agree it was in GEJ's administration we saw the counterpart funding of projects with China on Zungeru, Gurara and Kashimbilla hydro plants. GEJ didn't do much about the Mambilla, hopefully Buhari will do something about it |
