You can either get a Spouse Open Work Permit (sowp) or visit visa. Your child will get TRV as well.

Yes you can apply for PR with job although there is a classification of job you can apply with most especially your level at work really matter. Let me say from Supervisor Role upward.

AT the bolded. with all my years of experience in banking, all I really want to do when I get there is to buy a car and get into UBER or the likes.

Is that supervisory enough?

Sowp or visit visa can be obtained before wife departs or she will have to go first?

Yes if your wife gets her TRV (not just admission) she can apply for you and the kids to join her.
As for job restrictions, you won't have such but your wife will(20hours/week during academic session and unlimited during holidays).

Ok, Thanks

How long does application for TRV take on the average?

Hello guys,
Good job you're doing here.
I am pondering severql scenarios.

I understand that if my wife gains admission, hubby and kids can go along to Canada. True?

What kind of permit will I the hubby have? Any restrictions as regards work?

While wife is studying, am I the hubby restricted from applying for PR while in canada with her?

I am thinking of using JOB/employer to get additonal points for PR.

PS: i want wife to study so I can hustle full time.

I already have a stable job tho but I just thought of attending interviews with the aim of either greener pastures and to experience what most job seekers pass through. I'm a pharmacist though

The First was a job vacancy advertised on nairaland by an online firm in UK, they needed an online health rep.. The interview was on WhatsApp..They drilled me with so many research questions, gave me deadlines to submit and I always wowed them by submitting before deadline.. The interview process took about a week.. The next week..They called for salary negotiation..I was so excited but my excitement was cut short when they told me they're paying according to minimum wage..i was taken aback..even though I opted for part time..30000 wasn't cool because I knew their rep in uk won't be paid same wage..i told them that I should be paid same as the person working in uk since it's almost same job description but they said they'll pay according to country's minimum wage. I told them even a part time pharmacist cant earn such amount..she said Nigerians are obsessed with money..started giving entrepreneurship gospel bla bla..I just kuku lost interest..lol

Paying you by minimum wage does not mean they are paying 30k.

They simply want to use the country scale.

Your next question should have been "what level would you place me on the scale?".

You missed an opportunity there.

Asians love their culture and always showcase it through their artwork, but Africans? Nigerians, especially the atheists call our culture 'backwardness' and try to be more European than the European. I don't know if it is brainwashing, inferiority complex, or self-hatred resulting from this inferiority complex.

Lolz, so you even saw the whole movie, the trailer alone scared the sh.it outta me. The one I saw after much persuasion from here was The Autopsy of Jane Doe. I stopped seeing Horror flicks after i saw The ring 1& 2, The Grudge, Let Me In & The Conjuring 1& 2 (couldn't finish the second Conjuring though) in the same day. I was having a horror marathon that day(those 24 in 1 CDs). The experience really messed me up real bad, i had nightmares for weeks, I was virtually the star cast of my horror nightmares. After that experience, I vowed never to see any Horror flick that has any element of demonic possession or Exorcism.

Get what I am trying to say. That's why I asked if you were following the convo. Me deciding to call Prince a Nigerian movie was a matter of convenience. Why should I call it a Hollywood film when it was written, produced, features and is about Nigeria? Because the producer is American?

Ok, for your convenience.

But officially it is not a Nigerian movie.

Who you wan dey tell all this ones? That's why I said forget the producers. Nobody cares about them except the people who give out awards. They just provide the money that's all. Tell someone you watched a Hollywood film and when asked the name say Nigerian Prince and see their reaction. Leave matter for Matthias.

So Slumdog Millionaire is an Indian film?
TV/Movies / Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by Unionised(m): 6:28pm On May 29, 2019
You all seem to forget that Nollywood is just an aggregate of Independent Movie makers.

What they produce is to a large extent driven by market forces.

How has the government supported them?

What movie has the government made?

Ministry of culture and tourism nko?

The Nigerian Film and Television school nko? What have they produced?

No independent producer wants to gamble with their limited funds.

In the end, they are just Business men.

Until we get to the point of creating for creativity sake and not just for the money, we will keep going round in cycles.

And believe me, there are enough creative scripts out there, but nobody brave enough to execute them.

Many a producer have gotten their fingers burnt while trying to make an Artistic Statement

Man of dreams maybe butwhat if the dude aint the man of her dreams? Do you know the seriousness of their relationship? U just assume cos he took her to his mother ist a relationship bound for the altar ?Dont get me wrong am not against helping out with household chores but making it seem as if the girl sweeps, then automatically she becomes a wife material, i dont believe that

you are just proving my point with each response.

That is were you ladies get it wrong.

If you were just friends with him and you happen to be introduced to her, would you not collect the broom?

Its just home training, nothing to do with being a wife material.

Aunty, It's a lack of respect/regard for both your man and his mother and even spite.

When you visit the mother of the man of your dreams, you will gladly use your blouse to mop her floor.

We're not really poor, we're merely hemorrhaging our tremendous wealth and resources away due to weak union, corruption and greedy tax evading multinational corporations

If only we have a strong and transparent, and economically driven union like the EU, we could curb the corruption somewhat, and tax the greedy multinationals adequately. This way we can curb the bleed (there is more money leaving africa than money going in atm), and channel the funds into redeveloping our decaying infrastructures, and building new ones. Africa is not poverty stricken, we're just naive.

Our movies are not telling the right stories, because our people are not asking the right questions.

You are still saying the same with long grammar.

We are poor.

We have challenges.

We need to store pieces of history mixed with fiction to make artistic and cerebral statements.

We need to document stuff.

We will not always be like this.

for posterity.....

My older sister who is into Nollywood told me that if she can be seeing movies like Queen of Katwe and The boy that harnessed the wind she will delete all her Jenifas and other nollywood movies on her system.

She said she liked the originality of the movies.

I like both movies too but do you thing its what we need every time? Though they are but true stories but Not everybody lives in the ghetto.

I will to see a Nigeria movie on;

(1)how betting is affecting youths,

(2) the ordeals of gaining admission to tertiary universities (favourable or not),

(3)how Nigeria missed it (economy) when oil was discovered in the 70s.

(4) influence of religion, politicians on the society.

(5) the loss of authority of traditional rulers.

(6) how economy contributed to the growth of internet fraud, implications on the Nigeria household.

So many stories to put out, but na only romance + family palaver they prefer.

That is all I am saying jare.

All these stupid rules and regulations to judge someone’s character, you never jam one babe that will form house-girl just to impress the family, but the heart is black. I just honestly think it’s not that deep, seriously, and it’s not enough to break up with her.

Based on what her ability to sweep,is that the basics for marriage, All these so called tests sef,i never heard of multi-millionaires doing such, its always the struggling ones.Who even sweeps when guests are around sef?its rude and shows the guests he or she aint wanted, if the girl is a regular at the house ,fine thats different but a first-time visitor haba sef?
All these guys on this thread, if u go to your gf house and the father starts to wash his car in ur presence will u join him to wash the car?I don't get the act of degrading or putting some tru certain tests cos he or she wants to marry your child. That why many people pretend tru out courtship to put up with their potential in-laws unnecessary tests, and unleash their true colours in marriage .

The fact that you think it's DEGRADING says a lot.
