This.

In Bangladesh, large swaths of India, Cambodia, Pakistan, and Afghanistan, the populace face far more socio-economic difficulties than most African countries do. The west just love to accentuate our inadequacies more because, it falls within their age long "africa is a poverty stricken continent" narrative.

True.

Also true that we are poverty stricken.

Let's make movies that show the life of the average citizen, our history, heritage, and present economic realities.

i have no business with Afghanistan and Cambodia.

I want the world to hear my own story, from my perspective.

Is it that we lovers of the idiot-box just love to argue ni or its just a thread thing?

Another needless dick-measuring contest will soon degenerate into fisticuffs.

Na wa ooo.

Just so you know, TV series are shot with Android while Movies are done with iphone.

That's the major difference.

But they are both PICTURES THAT MOVE, hence the word MOVIE!!!

Case closed.

Use MX player to search for the subtitle. The language was in English & Malawi, but mostly Malawi.

This movie is a perfect example of what Nollywood should be producing.

Sell our culture and tell our stories from our perspective.

Artistic work and not forced acting and wannabe diction.

Definitely my best movie this year, after seeing it, i stored it in my movie archive. It wasn't just heartwarming, it was also inspiring. It's one heck of an Oscar bait, am really proud of Chiwetel Ejiofor.

Necessity is the mother of invention while Availability really is the mother of redundancy.

A paradox.

Africa has had it so easy with natural resources and climate but terrible leadership.

Suffering in the midst of plenty.

Don't know why this has low reviews. Every film, remake or not should be viewed as what it is first, a film. Anyway loved the chemistry between Kevin Hart and Bryan Cranston.

Dear friends

Greetings to you and please pardon my manners if my ways of writing isn’t that perfect!

I met my Gf about 3years ago after my youth service in Nigeria l! she was in law school at that time and things was going on well till I finally found out that she has cheated on me when she traveled back to continue her law school in Abuja, she told me that she thought I wasn’t too serious at that time and that she’s truly sorry.

I forgive her because I love her and because of the good behavior of her parents towards me.

To cut the long story short, I have to travel outside Nigeria about one year and 8month ago to further my studies and things was really going on well between us both before I left, I always try to creat time for her out of my busy academic schedule and I still send her money according to my pocket.

When I traveled down to Nigeria to celebrate Christmas with family&friends I ask her if she has ever cheated on me when I was away. She started lying till I have to force her to talk and give her the only bible to swear but she could not do that , she was scared so she told me that she has cheated on me twice, she said the first one was when she visited her friend in Ibadan for her sister wedding and a friend of her came in without her knowledge, that she was drunk and they have sex.

She said the second one happened when she went for a job interview in Edo. according to her she said when the the interview was over that she could not go back to Lagos so her male friend log her in an hotel which both of them sleep till morning but nothing happened between them! I don’t believe a man and woman would sleep in an hotel room till morning and nothing happened! I’m a street wise and well oriented so such story is not a welcome story to me .

I’m a Nigerian I study and live in the Netherlands.

Please my dear friends kindly advise me on what to do, she has been begging me with her mom who is asking me to forgive her and that such would never happen again

Matured advice please! That I will appreciate

You really are something else.

Nairalanders I need help, my brother in-law(my wife's Eldest bro, older than me too) is getting married and I was levied to pay a certain amount as support for his wedding because he had spent most of his funds for planning and the bride’s family had various outrageous demands he had to meet. The issues is I have several commitments like, I have my parents and siblings to take care of, coupled with the fact that my son will be starting school this month (which I postponed because of low funds) and my wife just graduated from the university(yet to go on NYSC and has no job, I foot all the bills in the house and all her expenses) I am about to tell my in-laws that I don’t have the said amount to give (I was levied #40,000) I want to give them (#10,000). And this will further inconvenience myself and my small nuclear family. What should I do? I need your advices

I am positive they did not bill you per se.

They billed your wife.

So send her back to them.

She knows your situation, let her tell them nothing dey.
Don't give her a dime

Don't tell them directly.

Respect yourself, even if they have no shame.

Well said.

However, you share a religion with many toxic people. How do you still remain in a religion where most people are like the homophobes on this thread?

It's rare to see an atheist homophobe. In the case of alexistaiwo, his problem is that he is unexposed. Cant blame a villager for being a villager. But at least, he kept quiet when faced with hard logic. There is hope for him grin

Let me tell you a story. Real shit_. Not kidding.

When I became enlightened and decided not to follow the hordes of intolerant bigots hating on gays, one day we're about 10 guys gisting, then somehow the issue of gays came up and one of my friends ignorantly said that gay is caused by possession of evil spirit, and what gays needed were deliverance. I was speechless. Speechless because a human being with a certificate from university could think like a dolt.

I asked him what of those who that are born with one deformity or the other? What about those born autistic? Since they're not born in a normal condition, Which type of demons were possessing them? That how man gays have pastors cured? He started using religious angle to prove gays are evil and sinners before God. I asked him, what of him that have lied, slept with several women outside marriage etc, didn't the Bible condemn it as sin as well?

I started exposing his hypocrisy, reminding him of how he's not different from those slave traders and whites that have discriminated against us, na em the bobo provoke. In short my friends joined him in doubting if I was still straight. Some of them accused me there of changing from heterosexual to homosexual. Like, how can Beorn dump the sweet pussy for a butt hole? Lol.

Long story short, I stood my ground and one of them who was cultist nearly stabbed me. He warned me that if I ever defend those "demons" in his presence, he'll fuvk me up. I had to back down before some vile hediot takes my life simply because he met a superior logic.

So don't be surprised that people are liking his distasteful reasoning. They're much worse offline. Being gay or defending homosexuals would get you killed in this country.

It's serious. Defending gay offline is a way deadly game. Be mindful of the bigots you debate it with offline.

P.S: Don't blast my religion (Christianity) for the ignorance of the dude. He's just simply dumb, it has nothing to do with Christianity. I'm a Christian but not an intolerant bigot.

Enlightenment indeed.

Look up into the light, what you see shining down on you is an haemorrhoid infested a s s.

You're really behaving like a closet homo. You certainly like the bolded. It's been your mantra since all this nonsense started. Why are you so obsessed with people shoving something in your face? Could it be you're projecting from a having a _dick in ya mouth PTSD? I dunno man... you certainly ticked all the boxes of a typical closeted gay man.

- Projection... check.
- Self hatred... check
- Blind homophobia... check
- Obsession... check

Nobody is shoving anything in your face, pal. It takes two to tangle, remember? You won't see a ball coming at you unless you open your eyes. Bottom line, you can't shove anything down a person's throat (pun intended), if the person in question is the one shoving it down there themselves. Methinks the lady doth protest too much. grin grin

Then don't talk about gayism here, because unsuspecting innocents might mistake you for a normal person.

That is all.
