Hi guys,

So I'm looking to start the Aussie immigration process and I would like some guidance, tips, pointers especially about getting regional or state sponsorship. I've read up a few things here but the thread is already over 200 pages long.
Pls is there any whatsapp group for starters like me that would be helpful?
Thanks

Chikicaka:
Hello guys, I am new here but in dire need of advice from diverse opinions, January 1st 2017 I made a firm resolve to try and leave this country and though it started as a joke but slowly but surely I got PR for both Canada and Australia, I wasn't able to save a dime all through last year and my savings is at an all time low because I wanted this and luckily for me I got them, I studied Civil Engineering in my undergraduate days but I am into freelance programming now, I am confused on which to go for because I didn't plan to get PR for Canada but because the process looked do-able i just decided to take the shot and go for it and it also clicked.

I am 26, not married and wasn't able to get a job with the PR's, so would like advice on which country would be easier to start over, get a minimal job pending when I am able to get my big break, save, survive and grow from there taking into account my educational and current work background, weather and distance, minimum wage, Racism factor, Economy, job availability, better Nigerian network and other factors I didn't mention.

Please guys would really love inputs...

PS-My bro says ppl would want to know how I did it, t'was simple I used the Express and Skilled migration routes respectively. And I am still in shock because never in my dreams did I ever consider I would get not one but two...#truetalk

This curse by Noah on Canaan explains why the continent is bedevilled by so many problems including thus recent. Xenophobia issue! Why aren't shops being burnt in Italy or Spain or California?? In fact if such a thing is happening in these places, then it's most likely by blacks!!

Rubbish talk. So other countries that are developed believe in Jesus? Ogbeni, park well jor.

That only apply to an individual

UNN is an institution and what people expect from them is just the best

They must not be celebrating mediocrity

Celebrating what is just 10% of the entire ranking by an Institution like UNN is mediocrity

Even institutions highlight their positives and downplay their negatives so I still don't see anything wrong. I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree

UNN should have at least wait for the whole Ranking instead of celebrating mediocre and trying to ridicule other Nigerian Universities with their mediocre celebration

But the VC reaction was childish though

It's OK to celebrate your achievement in little things, the big things will come but you can appreciate the little successes, that can motivate you to do better. As far as I'm concerned, UNN did nothing wrong. They didn't ridicule anybody, they listed the top 5 Nigerian Universities. U. I does the same thing when they top the ranking.

very petty. I'm disappointed, a whole VC of a great institution like U.I throwing tantrums like a child instead of congratulating and encouraging them.

What a tragedy that even this illiterate does not understand the constitutional requirement of presidential eligibility by virtue of birth.

Has Atiku denied that he was not born in Cameroon and held a Cameroonian birth certificate for the first 15years of his life and sang the Cameroonian anthem in school?

Has anyone said Atiku is not a Nigerian now, by virtue of the 1961 assimilation of his region of Cameroon into Nigeria?

But did the constitution not state that to be eligible for Nigerian Presidency, the candidate must have been born by Nigerians and born within Nigeria?

Atiku is a Nigerian, but not Nigerian enough according to the constitution, to be able to qualify for the Nigerian Presidency.

IMO this is INEC's mistake. It's INEC's job to verify the eligibility of candidates before allowing them contest.

Sex is meant for married people. That is the original plan of God to humanity. Many African cultures supported sex in marriage but frown at it outside marriage

Don't use your religious rules to judge everyone else as Nigeria is a secular country. According to Nigerian law which guides us, sex between consenting adults is not wrong. So I repeat sex is for consenting adults.

Education / Re: Monday Igbafen Caught In Sex For Marks Scandal, Suspended by uzolexis(f): 8:42am On Feb 14, 2019
Ecstasy154:
Prof. Monday Igbafen, the Chairman of Ambrose Alli University (AAU) chapter of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), has been suspended by university authorities over allegations of sexual assault.

Igbafen, an Associate Professor of the Department of Philosophy, was suspended after his appearance before a disciplinary committee on allegations of sexual misconduct.

This was made public in a statement signed by Edward Aihevba, the university’s spokesman, on Wednesday in Benin, Edo State capital.

The statement noted that Igbafen had been arraigned before the Senior Staff Disciplinary Committee (SSDC) on allegations of gross misconduct bordering on sexual harassment and threatening students to have sex with him in exchange for marks.

According to the statement, Igbafen was found culpable by the university’s investigative panel.

A relative of one of the victims had threatened to take the institution to the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission ICPC if Igbafen wasn’t prosecuted.

Yes. Davido's first daughter(Imade Adeleke) schools there - American International School, Lagos. Likewise Tiwa Savage's son - Jam Jam.

Apart from celebs, there are thousands of Nigerians that can easily afford such luxurious school. The school presently has over 750 students in Lagos alone.

As expensive as this particular school is, if you don't put in for admission in time - you won't be able to secure any space for your child especially at secondary school level.

less than 1% of Nigerians can afford that really. Don't have anything against those who can afford it but they are just a tiny speck in the Nigerian population.

You are missing the point.

The mark of quality writing/reportage especially journalism is to maintain clarity.

Why are you not seeing what is blindingly obvious?

The article could have been written plainly but the Eurozone reference was imported to elicit interest from the reader, the fact that the interest is fleeting at best, is another matter...

All I see is futile sensationalism, nothing more, nothing less...

I think we can just agree to disagree. In my opinion, the Eurozone reference is very important to emphasize their point and it is also as clear as it should be.

UK has been a part of the EU...never mind using the Euro...

I still deem it poor journalism to present the article in the manner it was done.

Ambiguity grates, doesnt it?
At the bolded, my point exactly. UK has been in the EU not in the Eurozone. This article says the third largest in the Eurozone so they are 100% correct. There's nothing like poor journalism there as they got their facts right and you can't blame them for you not understanding the difference btw EU and Eurozone.
