Thirteen states are still owing their teachers for as long as 28 months, Nigeria Union Teachers (NUT) revealed this. Osun tops the list with 28 months followed by Nasarawa, 26, Kogi 25, Benue 12 and Ekiti nine months.

NUT President, Comrade Alogba Olukoya, revealed this at the union’s 2018 annual gathering. He said the union is compiling reports from across the states before embarking on the strike. He added that both primary and secondary school teachers are affected.

“When we get report on salary, if it is not encouraging we will embark on strike. The next is the state of decays in our schools’ laboratories and libraries,” he said.
Olukoya appealed to the states to pay or begin to see the wrath of the Nigerian teachers. He, however, said Benue state will be excused from the strike because of the security challenges affecting the state at the moment.

He said the union has received assurance from the state government that the outstanding salaries will be paid soon.
The union however, berated the action of Kaduna state government for sacking teachers and directive to stop deduction of check off dues for trade unions.

The number of teachers affected in the 13 states were said to be about 300,000. The NUT could not give the amount owed teachers saying it has no record of that at the moment.

Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) which was closed down last year due financial problem has been ranked best state university in Nigeria.

In spite of repeated workers strike that held down academic and other activities at the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso in the last one year, the institution has been ranked as the best state university in Nigeria.

A statement by the institution’s Head of Public Affairs, Mr Lekan Fadeji, said the latest ranking by Webometric, which puts the Institution as 14th overall in the country and 3680 in the World, goes to confirm that despite the debilitating effect of the industrial crisis, LAUTECH’s leadership position among its peers remains unchallenged.

Reacting to the news, the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Adeniyi Gbadegesin, reiterated the commitment of management to ensuring that the Institution’s present financial position is not allowed to affect its determination to train eggheads to man the various technological spaces of the future.

He added that the Governing Council, led by Prof. Oladapo Afolabi, has assured that whatever the university needs to stay on top would be encouraged.

LAUTECH had in the past been named the number one state university in Nigeria by various ranking organizations, including the National Universities Commission (NUC).

Ghanaian Principal Caught Having S3x, The Headmaster of Breman Edumanu D/A Basic School in the Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa District of the Central Region, whose name is Robert Sepey, was caught in a s3x tape with a 16-year-old girl which happens to be his student, is on the run.

The District Police Command and chiefs and people of the town are currently on the heels of the disgraceful headmaster, Sepey over the alleged s3x tape.

The youth and opinion leaders of the town are therefore calling for a mass transfer of all teachers in the community since they claim the phenomenon has existed for long. Some aggrieved past students of the school said the headmaster is alleged to be in the habit of having s3xual affairs with pupils.

Carryover is a common metaphor for failure in Nigerian higher institutions and you must try hard to avoid having one.

The Katsina state governor, Aminu Masari, has increased the welfare budget for National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) members deployed to the state by about 200 percent.

While speaking on Thursday at the formal opening ceremony of the 2017 NYSC Batch ‘B’ Stream orientation course in Katsina State, Alhaji Aminu Ibrahim, the chairman of NYSC Katsina State Governing Board, made a revelation on corps members.

According to DailyPost, Ibrahim said that the Katsina State Government has increased the welfare budget for National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) members deployed to the state by about 200 per cent.

2,200 corps members were deployed to Katsina state for the 2017 Batch ‘B’ Stream II.

Ibrahim, who represented Gov. Aminu Masari of Katsina state at the orientation course, is also the Special Adviser to the governor on Youths Development, said Masari’s administration would ensure provisions were made for the welfare of corps members to enable them to enjoy their stay in the state.

He promised to provide adequate security to the corps members deployed to the state. The governor noted that the choice of Katsina as hosting camp for Borno and Katsina States was no doubt predicated on the antecedents of Katsina as a hospitable and accommodating state.

He urged all security operatives to ensure maximum security at the camp and throughout the time of the corps members’ primary assignments.

In his speech, the Chairman of the NYSC governing board, Ibrahim explained that there were two combined orientation courses for Katsina and Borno States’ corps members at the NYSC permanent orientation camp in Katsina.

Kemen insisted that he had been a fitness coach for many years and there have been no similar incidents before and nobody had ever accused him of inappropriate behavior towards women. He begged pardon from TBoss and all the African women who could have interpreted his behavior as a cruel assault and said that never meant anything like this, especially on the International Women’s Day.

According to Reports reaching us now, concerning the removal of Nollywood Actress name on the Avengers List, was said to be a “stunt” pulled by a hacker, who has indirectly made Funke Akindele a viral celebrity sensation.

Few days ago, Nigerian media went agog with news of Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele becoming part of the cast for yet to be released Hollywood superhero film “Avengers: Infinity War”.

The actress’ name was added to the movie’s website, and given the role of a member of the Black Panther’s guards, the ‘Dora Milaje’.

Funke started trending on twitter and many of her fans praised her for the hardwork and consistency she’d put in the industry so far.


However, while we were still basking in the euphoria that our very own Jenifa was about to become a global star, we were hit with the news that the actress was never contacted to feature in the movie.

Olunloyo took to her Twitter handle on Friday, January 12, to call out Funke Akindele. She disclosed that there is nothing special about the Hollywood movie role. The ex-governor’s daughter did not stop there but further urged Nigerians to start celebrating its own people before it is too late.

Her Twitter post reads: “Nothing special about Funke Akindele being in a #Hollywood movie. She should have gotten an Oscar a long time ago for many movies. Start celebrating our own early #hnnact.”

Following this post, one of her followers replied her that, it does not matter as our celebrities are celebrated both at home and abroad.
