I believe the new testament, however l believe we give the Devil too much credit and power. However the nature of God becomes more interesting when we combine both testaments and of course gives us much food for thought. In the old testament, Yahweh is good though indifferent. He is just, and does what he has to do. In the new testament, the Devil is more prominent as an opposer to God's divine will, and God is light and there's no trace of darkness in him, he is not counting our sin against us and does not punish instantly, he is love and he is willing to help our weaknesses all the way. I am more inclined to the new testament but l believe there's a lot to learn from the old. It is interesting though.

Knowledge (not goose bumps). That's how you feel the presence of God. A person knows beyond doubt. That's how I do.

That knowledge is also the difference between people prone to backsliding in their faith and the people who cannot be moved. Both are in the church. If there is no basis to the belief, which is the knowledge otherwise referred to as conviction, the first waves that arise against you shall carry you wherever they please.

Even the old testament is a volume of many books with various ideas that may even differ from one another. In my view the old testament as a whole is by inspiration of God and they contain the human story. But l do not believe everything written therein are to be taken literally. We have inspiring books like Ecclesiastes,psalms,proverbs(my favorite), job, and of course Esther. Then we have the beautiful story of Joseph and the eventful, adventurous life of David. Of course the old testament is very important to me as a christian and l cherish it, but l do not enjoy all books equally, for instance l find it hard to understand the prophets, also l believe in the worldview of some of the old testament authors, God is responsible for everything both good and evil, even Satan does not act on his own, and he is like a messenger of God.

By real you mean physical. Why is that bad? Do you believe in intuition? It's not so real, is it. How about love and hate? How real are they?

Then consider that God is Spirit. So by spirit or intuition you a person realizes the presence of God, the Spirit. That's the knowledge. Faith is what convinces him that the knowledge is real, and keeps them holding to it and over time. Faith and belief are the same thing. One more commonly used as a verb and the other a noun (faith)

Unfortunately, even Christians themselves cannot come to a consensus on a lot of things in the bible.

They are a really confused bunch. Imagine one religion having 33,000 denominations. ANd most hate each other with a passion. One example is RCCG members and JW.

If they can finally come to a consensus on the OT it would be great. But it would help the case of the Christians more if they could just remove the OT entirely from the bible.

Unfortunately, the prophecy of a "messiah" was in the OT. They are officially fvcked

That's because Christ was ushering in a new age. I guess someone can see it as a contradiction.

But like I said, there is some spiritual mysteries hidden in the laws and prophesies of the old testament. The laws for example. They are shadows of spiritual principles that are still applicable.

I've experienced God from both perspectives, when unclean and cleanness from of my spirit did not affect my spirituality and when petty things that marred my spirit did. I've also met God as overly merciful(that it annoyed) and as merciless in vengeance.

That's why your perception and mine concerning those contradicting concepts are different. Both forgiveness and vengeance and requirements of cleanliness can also be found in both testaments in other complimentary provisions. So they are both revelation of the personality of God.

I've never seen any contradictions. Which ones in particular? The old testament flows very well into not just the era of Christ but goes further into the the future in my understanding.
