HealthRe: Health Workers Call Off Strike by 0key:
Ochek: thanks Mr. However, your accertions may not be completely correct. Like I did ask some dude earlier, maybe u might wanna Google up more about the nursing profession so u don't base ur constructive arguments on the ill norms u know about them back home.

That said, do u know about the history and origins of medicine in Nigeria? Do u kno it actually began from Yaba Tech? we still got those class of doctors in our health sector. Though few now.
The only health professional that makes d most important medical decision is d doctor cos he was specifically trained to do so. The nurses can aspire to b what they want( I don't have any problem with that), but they are to follow d doctor's instructions. Any nursing specialty is derived from medical specialty. So, a nurse who shows his/her interest in any medical field is welcome cos he/she will concentrate on assisting d doctor in that field only.
HealthRe: Health Workers Call Off Strike by 0key:
Ochek: Another ignoramus on the matter!
Take nursing for example, them ve got different areas of specialty too. So ve u got to say about that kiddo?
If u want to reason with me, do it politely. Any insult from u, I'll ignore u.

The role of the nurses is to assist the doctors. In fact, the nucleus of any hospital comprises the doctors and d nurses. The job of the nurse is not to TREAT patients but to care for the patients on the wards. They take vital signs, give oral and IM drugs, do minor dressings and ensure the beds and the wards are organised. Giving of drugs and doing minor dressing are done based on doctor's instructions. In other words, they don't make medical decisions and involve in handling of complicated and life threatening issues. That is the job of d doctors. The role of a nurse is a subset of the role of doctors. A nurse who chooses to work in a cardiology department is not going to work alone but under a cardiologist. She is not going to make any decision but instead take instruction from the doctor in-charge. If they wish to become consultants, no problem so long as they will not start rubbing shoulders with the medical consultant.
Come to think of it, nurses work for 2 weeks - 2.5weeks in a month. Do u consider their work stressful?
HealthRe: Health Workers Call Off Strike by 0key:
Some people don't understand what it means to b a consultant. A medical consultant is a doctor that specializes in a particular area of medicine or surgery. That is why u have neurologist, cardiologist, urologist, cardothoraxic surgeon, orthopaedic surgeon, ophthalmologist etc. These specialists have different roles they play in teaching hospitals and FMCs, and they don't encroach on one another's field. So, d reason for doctors to b consultants is not disputed. Coming over to health workers who are clamouring to b consultants, are they going to perform the same work or their work is going to b divided. For eg, in pharmacy department, if they have consultants, what would b their job description? Are they all going to perform the same function (i.e. compounding and dispensing of drugs) or is there any special thing one consultant is going to do different from another one?
Again what are the areas they are to specialize and the scope of these areas?

A doctor is the head of d medical team cos of his centralised knowledge he possesses which is not sufficient in other health fields. For instance, a doctor has broad knowledge about laboratory, pharmacy and patient's care coupled with his own work. He supervises how things should b done to achieve total cure & improvements in quality of life. Hence, their role is a centralised and unifying one.

Proper understanding of d above will go a long way to curb unnecessary tensions in healthcare sector.

I have been following this thread and realised that there's a hidden agenda d LASG is trying hard to execute but d truth of d matter is, after careful consideration, it's going to hit d rock but it's all nice as they are working relentlessly to prove my private assertions right.

I use this medium to encourage the hardworking lagosians to b law abiding according to Nigerian constitution and stand firm on your right. The present intimidation is just a mere ranting of an ant.
PoliticsRe: Lagos Labels Spare-Parts Dealers Security Threat by 0key: 12:38am On Aug 23, 2013
Katsumoto: Now you are just being sentimental.

Ignored until you raise a more logical point.
U are not being objective because of some egoistic trait. Learn to follow issues from other people's perspectives.
PoliticsRe: Lagos Labels Spare-Parts Dealers Security Threat by 0key: 12:31am On Aug 23, 2013
Katsumoto: Why would LASG use other groups as reference? Is that the rule you made for them?

They don't have to make reference to any other groups or bodies.
...and when did it become an offence to use what is good to make an example?

If they are sincere, let them give us d full picture of the issue so that we'll know how they constitute security threat.
PoliticsRe: Lagos Labels Spare-Parts Dealers Security Threat by 0key: 12:21am On Aug 23, 2013
Katsumoto: If you have evidence that other associations are not compliant, then please share it.

No point assuming that there other non-compliant bodies.
It is not an issue of assumption. If other groups are actually involved, the LASG would have easily used them to make reference.
PoliticsRe: Lagos Labels Spare-Parts Dealers Security Threat by 0key: 11:57pm On Aug 22, 2013
Katsumoto: Firstly, there is no mention of tax in the original article. I stand to be corrected though. You can read it yourself.

Second, If they are unregulated, you can't get them to comply and you can't know how many members they have. This poses two major issues

1. Criminals can mix with honest and legitimate businessmen

2. You can't know who to tax and how much to tax them with. Again this is to the disadvantage of the honest business men. For instance, if the govt believes there are 200 members when there are infact 400 members. The government will apportion the tax evenly to meet its obligations. If you divide an obligation of 2000 Naira amongst 200 members instead of 400 members, the honest members will pay 10 Naira instead of 5.
The problem I have with the post is the emphasis on a specific group of people ( d spare parts dealers). What about other groups? Are they exempted?
If d general feeling is that the entire stakeholders of market are subjected to this 'demand', l don't think such resistance would have come up. This is directed to a particular group and they are perceiving injustice considering d way LASG is pursuing d issue.

Furthermore, there's already ongoing tension between LAsG and those at Ladipo mkt. So, this action by the state govt would b seen as transferred aggression. Common sense demands diplomatic approach and not to approach issues rudely to raise dust.
PoliticsRe: Lagos Labels Spare-Parts Dealers Security Threat by 0key: 11:33pm On Aug 22, 2013
Katsumoto: If you read the original article, you will observe that the major complaint by LASG is the unwillingness of the parts dealers to subject their body to LASG regulations. An unregulated body can be infiltrated by criminals who steal cars, break them up, and sell in the open market. This is not different from the security posed by unregulated abattoirs who may sell diseased meat to the general public. Since ATM's point was that the threat could be reported to the police, my response was that there should be no need for any regulations or regulated bodies since the ever efficient Nigerian Police Force is present to deal with any threats.

The issue many of you have is the understanding of what a security threat is. For instance, it was reported in the news recently, that an abattoir was discovered preparing unfit for consumption meat. If meat sellers refuse to abide by regulations or subject themselves to the appropriate body, how will such a body
protect society from such threats?
How does imposing additional tax on people who engage in legitimate businesses ( and also pay their required dues and taxes) become a way of regulating their activities? They are now labelled security threats just because they queried the rational behind their demand.

Besides, are d spare parts dralers d only group that should be subjected to pay tax? What about other groups? In fact this move by LASG is questionable

PoliticsRe: Lagos Labels Spare-Parts Dealers Security Threat by 0key: 10:32pm On Aug 22, 2013
Katsumoto: Since the nigerian police can solve all crimes, perhaps society can do away with institutions that regulate industries such as health, food, etc

No need laying down the rules and regulations, just refer everything to the police. In your highly myopic point of view, security threats arise only when the traders start carrying guns.

I have told you to try and find your level but you won't listen. Instead you go through a thread and reply firstly to my post and then get humiliated with my response.

On a serious note, I am not into guys, take your fixation elsewhere.
How does fighting crime equate to regulation of food, health etc? U are not making any sense.

rfams: Right from time, P-Squares party songs carries no MEANING. Am not surprised if they get praises from jst HANGING MJs photo in there video. It shows that we blacks appreciate sick songs.

No disrespect, p-square are good in making good beats, and steal cool dance moves from Usher, Chris B and MJ. They need to up their game, and do something for people to remember them for.
If u have a higher taste in music, stop listening to party
songs. Go and listen to other p square's songs with
meaningful lyrics such as no one like u, beautiful onyinye, e
no easy and so many others. U will definitely appreciate
them unless u are biased. They have different songs that
cut across different genres.
I hop u are not one of those that kick against anything done
by psquare but dance to party songs with terrible lyrics by
other Nigerian artists.

With this kind of inflammatory statements made, it's obvious that Nigeria can never b one. There will be endless hatred b/w d Igbo and Yoruba which will certainly lead to terrible crises in future. since water and oil cannot mix together, they are not meant to be in one country.

Fashola is a tribalist and he will definitely reap his fruit of discord when the time comes. It will surely happen!

the idea of wanting to change d thermostat is to make air-fuel mixture run rich which is resistant to detonation. Another option is to install cold air intake which is not available in Nigeria.
