CFCfan: Fellow Nlanders resident in the United States and Nigeria, did u guys watch Michelle Obama's speech? I always thought she was an effective surrogate for her husband in the campaign. But men, that speech was almost Earth-shaking. Even some cable news pundits (from FOX, MSNBC and CNN) said it was the best political speech given by any U.S. First Lady. Any thoughts?

Nah, Obama made a couple of better speeches in 2008... MLK's "I have a dream speech' is far better than this one... Ronald Reegan made better speeches, John F. Kennedy, Abraham Lincoln, Lyndon B. Johnson, Malcolm X etc.. Americans make great and eloquent speeches...

I'm not on anyone's side, they're controlled by the same people... Obama is going to attack Iran as well - and his policy towards South China Sea would lead to a confrontation between China vs Japan/Vietnam with US in the mix in the next couple of years... It's just two sides to the same coin - and it's difficult to support any of the two... So, I would just stay neutral and watch things unfold..

That is not the case here, these countries you are listing are all prosperous countries and their citizens are satisfied, they never protested against their own governments, maybe because they are pro-west.....for your information America didn't went into these countries with the intention of bombing any islamist as you are puting it. Try sometimes to see the US/Obama as a world peace maker, the only mistake i still see they 've made so far is invading Iraq without a proper verification if saddam actually had the nuclear weapons.
