You know that the Bible doesn't talk about a lot of things, for instance how a marriage ceremony or burial should be conducted. It doesn't talk about how you should go about your education when you do your schooling or how you should defend yourself from those that want to kill you.
That doesn't mean that people should abandon these things and pretend that they are not supposed to do anything about them. Therefore, the Bible saying nothing about men's chastity before marriage does not necessarily mean that it should not be taken as seriously as a woman's chastity is taken. If a woman's virginity status should be announced to the public before marriage, then men's virginity status should also be announced because leaving the men out would just make the whole thing hypocritical and unjust.

The point behind it is vile and just this side of incestous, not to mention a charming throwback to the Middle Ages. Why on earth can't

these girls be taught to believe in their own values without it being somehow tied to their father? They are being taught they only have
