I have noticed although not limited to a particular sex, that some Ladies/Women usually by one form of behavior or the other, Nagging incl. but not limited drives their Spouses away to where they will be welcome or at least where they will be comforted at that time.

"Recently my husband, "Byron," and I had an argument, and he took off in his truck. He didn't return until after work the following day. He had spent the night at our friend "Arlene's" house. She is divorced and lives alone.
