The man's comment has mix meaning. I am nt surprise that a semi-illiterate like alj uche misinterpreted it.

BlackPikiN: There are many Liberians of Igbo Origin and one actually was a former president of liberia.

So if Liberians, seirra leoneans settled in Onitsha many centuries ago then it should be assumed that they are Igbo who took onitsha as their new home and remember Onitsha has been a busy a business center for centuries.

Larry koldsweat is an Igbo man even if He has an English name though his statement is funny and unwarranted.

Edward James Roye was a pure descendent of the Ibo tribe (West Africa, Nigeria), born in Newark, Ohio, USA, on February 3, 1815. He was the first pure black person to become President of Liberia. He arrived as a new immigrant in 1846, one year before Independence was proclaimed. Roye became President in 1870 but was deposed the following year in the first coup d’état in Africa’s Oldest Republic. He died a mysterious death in Monrovia in early 1872.

President Edward Roye was deposed on October 26, 1871. What exactly happened after his imprisonment is not known. The way in which, and even the day on which he died, are not known with certainty. His succession too is surrounded by mysteries.

^^^I just wish these literate Igbo ancestors in the new world documented their experiences a bit more; imagine the wealth of knowledge that would have been handed down to him via oral tradition!

EKONGKING:

unless the igbos develop cities in there region, there will be always be ridiculed by other tribes embarassed embarassed

but why do Igbos ridicule other ethnic groups ? Do you think others like to do what you call ridicule ? Why only on Igbos, the answer is simple, they ridicule others.

@Topic. I find nothing wrong in what this man said except the line he said he would love to change his identity to be a yoruba, well it will be good news for we igbos to hear that one future potential saboteur has finally become a yoruba.
