Indeed there is no sense whatsoever in this decision. Landmark discovery are made when mistakes occur and we perfect such. Though rather unfortunate about those that lost their loved once. All we need to take from there is learn from out mistakes both the airline, regulator and general public that are stakeholders.
The consequence of this is that we return to era of monopoly and fare rising to high heaven.
A new operator will definitely take time to learn the process all over again.
