Quite the contrary, one needs a higher IQ than the average to appreciate the new bond movie. It departs from the norm you've come to expect from bond, ie lots of shooting scenes, car chases, extravangant display of gadgets etc, and instead actually made a movie that you actually need to sit down and listen to the dialog to appreciate it. In my opinion, I think the movie was great because it showed bond in a different light. It used to be Bond that took the fight to the villain and not the reverse. Heck, even 006 went rogue, he never brought the fight to Bond. But this dude is crazy, he acutually came personally to take out M, not sending goons to do the job. He planned everything out like a master tactician and he kinda looks like The Joker with Oedipus complex. Then Judi Dench's portrayal of M is the best so far. This is the 1st time an M is actually acting like a real Head of Department and not a figurehead. She not only takes the toughest decisions but she also defended her actions admirably. I think one can liken her to Dumbledore in Harry Potter especially in part 4 when he had to answer a public enquiry. Then come in the Quatermaster, another deviation from the norm. This is kinda a nod @the current trend where younger people are leading the pack in technology. You can see this with his statement of doing damage from bed on his pyjamas but he also admits there are times when a trigger has to be pulled. The other Qs were just a Here-are-the-gadgets-bond-and-bring-them-back-in-one-piece kinda guy and once the gadgets switch hands, that's the end of their roles but this one's role was expanded due to the villain bringing the fight home and in fact, almost everybody had an active role to play and the movie for once didn't center on just one fellow shooting at people, and using gadgets but it actually is a movie that one can get to sit down and watch and appreciate all the major characters and not just the Main protagonist. So, ask yourself this, are you sure you aren't the one with the low IQ for not appreciatingthis movie?

- now patrice must carry a poker chip about with him and must be thrown off a window so bond can find this chip

Well I think skyfall was an okay movie not as good as the other two but it is a fair 4/10 kind of movie its just okay. Silva tortures M and when bond is brought into the room silva tests bonds loyalty by handing him a gun and asking him to shoot M bond does so however the gun is not loaded and silva in good faith gives bond a hard drive containing all the information he had swiped from the MI6 servers , bond however secretly sends a distress signal to MI6 and is confronted by silva's men whom he kills secretly before help arrived however silvas brotherhood men including their intelligent techno terrorists which silva jokingly referred to as diamonds in the rough, abandon the island along with all their computers and equipment however silva is left behind and captured by british soldiers. Bond returns a hero but M however succumbs to her torture wounds and dies. When Q attempts to access silva's computer to find the remainder of his brotherhood, silva's computer hi jacks MI6 automated devices control and opens all the security doors bond and other agents run to block silva from escaping from his cell of course silva was not very interested in escaping and mallory orders bond to talk to silva since they sort of had a connection and that maybe they could be lucky enough to locate the members of his cell. Bond and silva chat at length and very soon silva influences bond to become quite paranoid of MI6 stating that he was sold to the chinese military by M because she wanted to save her political career however bond's paranoia heightens when mallory disconnects silvas cell microphone and just as bond is about to confront mallory, mallory receives a message saying that a british battleship encoder replica was in their possession and they threatened to tamper with this encoder and mislead the ship to enemy quarters unless mallory releases silva.mallory is given an hour ultimatum to respond to their request. At first Q traces the message to a barn in scotland then bond,severine and several MI5 tactical. Team are deployed to this location they engage a few cell members but find and apprehend only one of the techno terrorists distorted that the threat was still valid, mallory instructs a dispatch unit to deliver silva to his brotherhood, bond is not happy with this and he takes advantage of the less security upon the brotherhood instruction and with help from Q disrupting mallory a bit bond holds silvas man hostage asking him to lead bond to the encoder while silva is returned to his cell but bond's plan is foiled when silva kills the MI6 driver in charge and tries to kill the brotherhood person at the drop off. The brotherhood man and bond drive off with silva on their tail bond learns that the brotherhood had been disappointed with how silva had put their men at risk by his vendetta on MI6 and the exchange was so they could kill silva and tie that lose end silva kills the brotherhood escort and moves to kill bond but bond repels his attack and kills him instead.mallory is furious with bond and has him locked up for silva's death and when the threat of the encoder was over, they moved forward to interrogate the apprehended techno terrorist that identified the silva's brotherhood as SMERSH he released information of how the computer analysts on the island are deployed around and told them exactly where to find them including patrice who currently was recruiting and training rebel forces in angola he however disclosed SMERSH's latest operation to assist angolan corrupt government in selling their oil rights by dismantling angolan oil pipes and blaming it on the rebels. Angola was enemy territory definitely so mallory instructed 008 to take part in a secret ploy to assassinate patrice in angola severine tried to bargain to bring bond in but mallory paid no attention to her saying 0012 would be briefed by eve and would join her in angola. Bond hears about M will and received an british bulldog figurine from M,bond also gets a bit sentimental about her death when he sees the accolade and praise M had bestowed on him in an obituary draft when they feared bond would die in istanbul, severine and bond negotiate with some local but tactical angolan assents to infiltrate a hotel where patrice was accommodated and protected courtesy of the angolan government so much as to evacuate the premise of its residents bond and his team infiltrate the hotel and engage in a gun battle with the security forces severine is injured and bond's men and killed but bond uses demolition tactics to take out patrices security and when he is confronted by patrice he manages to throw him in a lake killing him.severine is inadvertently taken to a hospital where she passes out into a coma bond is withdrawn by british service agents painfully abandoning severine to the angolan security agents.
Due to financial constraints and pressure from the parliamentary mallory is forced to shut down the 00 section deploying the field agents to MI5 and SIS quarters as damage control bond is offered a job to train SIS field agents but the conflict between mallory and causes bond to decline. Shallow storyline:M is targeted by a former MI6 agent whom she betrayed years ago but is being protected ironically by another agent she betrayed in istanbul that's it?casino royale has bond and M investigating how a terrorist organization is being funded and he is to bankrupt a terrorism financier in order to gain his cooperation in taking down these terrorist organization in exchange for protection from his clients,Quantum of solace bond continues his investigation on that same terrorist organization when his lead from casino royale is killed and his new target happens to be the boyfriend of bonds late lover od which bond has to track down this boyfriend with the help of the terrorist organizations leader who has a diabolical plan of helping an exiled bolivian soldier back into power but at the same time has the intention of controlling bolivia's water supply, of course bond confuses the viewers when we don't know if he has gone rogue if he is still on MI6s side or if he is simply out for revenge,now honestly tell me, does skyfalls story measure up to any of these two.
Realistic fight scenes:bond chases a guy on a roof top with a motorcycle are serious? A lizard eats a guy in a movie shot in 2012? Seriously?a guy blows a tunnel like 60ft above him and has a train crash thru pls how are these scenes realistic? U can't compare them with the stairwell fight scene between bond and steve obano(casino royale), or the bone crunching hand to hand combat between bond and slater(quantum of solace)
Box office:casino royale made 500million +
Quantum of solace upon the "dislikes" made 600million+ skyfall could only do better it had a stellar cast two blockbusting predecessors and all the hype in the galaxy so u can't judge the movie by box office returns besides rotten tomatoes gave it a thumbs down even one of EON productions writers called it "distasteful" I mean its no longer news that real bond fans are very disappointed with skyfall

1. A motorcycle rooftop chase scene plus a hand to hand combat atop of a speeding train over a river
2m a bond with superhuman strenght to survive a shot from a high powered rifle that should have severed bond in half
3. An assassin who uses a bullet so rare it is used by only 3 people in the world

9. Then a criminal who put the life of a high ranking military officer and went beyond protocol but at the end was not court marshaled or even fired instead he was reinstated
These are cartoon attributes but guess what? "nigerians" still didn't like skyfall. So then why do we hate skyfall?
- becos I cudnt help sleeping through out the movie cos it was boring
- I couldn't help cringing at how unrealistic and shallow the story was
- I couldn't stop raising my eyebrow at how fake the movie was and how much plot holes the movie had
-i couldn't stop rolling my eyes at how the producers were desperately stealing scenes from other successful movies( no originality whatsoever)
So bros we aren't stoopid we have genuine reasons for not liking this movie on the contrary, its even you people who don't have a genuine reason for liking skyfall apart from the fact that it made "$1bn" please I'm gettin sick of hearing that come up with something fresh

Hi nairalanders I just saw skyfall don't bury me yet I was saving it till I got a work free day and my home theatre.I can't belive you ppl are even arguing abt the movie being good or not, skyfall is not a good movie it is not even an okay movie it is a terrible movie by all standards the movie explored no new depth so M is a biitch who betrays her agents "big deal", moneypenny is a clumsy shot and a lady who doesn't knw what she wants "big deal" Q is an iidiot who cud not only trace the hacker that blew up MI6 but he also aided the villain in escaping"big deal" and bond is an orphan "big deal", all the director did was to twist the plot anyway he cud just so it wud follow the script thereby causing confusion and leaving every single scene in the movie with an exclamation mark and a question mark the dialogue was dry and NOT intelligent the emotions looked force all the action. Scenes were either weak or unrealistic. Every bond actor is remembered for something, sean connory was the bond for the cold war, roger moore was the comic bond, george lazenby was the bond that got married, timothy dalton was the boring bond, pierce brosnan was the sexy bond, daniel craig would have been the badass bond but nooooo sam mendes had to do the lazy adaptations and end daniel craigs unique run as well as demolish.the reboot and the new direction it was going.thumbs down skyfall, thumbs down

I really enjoyed the movie....I think probably it is the best Bond movie ever made. The acting was amazing, the story line intriguing.

Skyfall critics should jus b patient. Hopefully in d near future, u'l get ur wish of a bond movie with a megalomaniac bad guy plotting to take over the world possibly with a nuclear weapons angle and bond without takin a hit saves d day wit a gadget he borrowed from inspector gadget. Lol

I guess you remenber when casino royale was released people criticised it massively but the movie proved most wrong.
About the scene where M was attacked at the hearing, that isnt unusual. Remenber The Living Daylights, The world is not enough (a bomb beat the MI6 security).

The attack in the living daylight was obviously a premedidated attack carried out by a sector of the russian military which is quite as clinical and professional as MI6.in The world is not enough the money was immersed in syntex and if you noticed when mr king went to count the money, they were actually examining the money so they wud have discovered that it was boobitrapped see? those scenarios are very realistic but who walks into a court house surrounded by armed security guards with nothing but a handgun and start shooting expecting to take out his target that is very silly abeg they shouldn't try that shiit again
