You might be current in September and ur interview can be October or November thereabout, it depends on when U submit ur application form.

The clarification is basically on if Nigeria will be eligible in 2015. Definitely there will be DV 2015. But how sure are we? Until is officially announced.

For DV-2015, natives of the following countries are not eligible to apply, because more than 50,000 natives of these countries immigrated to the United States in the previous five years:
Bangladesh, Brazil, Canada, China (mainland-born), Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador,
El Salvador, Haiti, India, Jamaica, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, South Korea, United Kingdom (except Northern Ireland) and its dependent territories, and Vietnam. Persons born in Hong Kong SAR, Macau SAR, and Taiwan are eligible.

Changes in eligibility this year: For DV-2015, natives of Nigeria are no longer eligible

shocked South Africa has been removed from d ineligible countries.
That means Nigeria is now d only ineligible african country for d program 4 now. undecided

In a nutshell, the answer is yes. The eligibility/ineligibility of a country is based simply on the total number of immigrants from any given country over the preceding 5 years. if this figure gets to 50,000, the country is dropped from the eligibility list. If the figure drops below 50,000, the country is reinstated. the whole aim of the DV lottery is to try and even out the immigration rate into the US so that they don't have too high a concentration of any national.

No. That was not TRUE he was being realistic that according to the statistic for the past five years, Nigeria has not exhausted up to 50,000 which means he was sure of her eligibility.

His statement was made on the 23 of August 2013, he openly said if there will be dv 2015 under current rules Nigeria will be eligible.I guess he got the information from himself not from a reliable source.The so called rumour from Wikipedia has been proven true and correct and of course like you said he cannot rely on a rumour from Wikipedia he should have kept quiet and wait for official confirmation.

You are putting it to me. I didnt bcs im not a consular officer,this is why i dont say what i dont knw. The fact is that he pronounced himself as visaofficer to the public as to confide in his authenticity statement but he later fumbled.
