Is it a VQ35DE with cable throttle or electronic throttle?

Electronic throttle boss.

Since you don't want them adding their percentage. How about you go to the market and buy yourself?

It's is not fair now. When I will still pay for their service.

Aa long as what they are adding is not unreasonable, it's what those of us who don't reside in Lagos have to deal with.

I can't leave my work, travel to lagos, lodge in a hotel travel back to my base with a part that may turn out to be defective.

Considering what you even want to buy, it's better you have someone interfacing directly with the seller.

Option 1
Contact @GAZZUZZ and be prepared to pay commission for his service.

Option 2
Enter Ladipo with/out a mechanic and leave everything in the hands of God.

What happened to your mechanic getting the right engine for you?
Or better still go Ladipo on a weekend for window shopping since you're in Lagos.

Hi all, so I'm stuck btw buying an FX 35 (2003-2008 model) or a 2007 Honda pilot.
My first choice is the fx but I don't know what the mtce costs as well as its fuel economy is for an everyday car in Lagos.
Pls FX users feel free to drop your reviews.

If I were in your shoes, I'll buy the FX35 without thinking twice. The Honda Pilot just does not appeal to me in anyway or form.

If you were not living in Lagos, getting parts may be difficult which will make the Honda pilot a more reasonable option.

Whichever one you decide to buy, ensure it's well inspected. A bad vehicle will burn holes in your pocket really fast.

Yeah the fx 35 is my first option. I once drove one and I must confess it's performance was fantastic. It drove like a roadster - suv.
Its powerful, balanced, great handling, quick and the sound is so thrilling.
Unfortunately, it doesn't come with 4 x 4 but AWD instead as compared with the Pilot which is fully 4 x 4, comes with 3rd row seats, more Hp and is roomier.
Also considering this will be an everyday car I'm carefully considering, durability, Fuel Mpg (for Lagos) and overall maintenance.

I noticed the FX also has issues with melting dashboard does anyone have a solution to this??

Still watching!!

Most Honda Pilot comes with FWD system, but some have a part time AWD which is termed VTM-4. On low speeds it engages its AWD and when the speed increases, it reverts back to FWD.

Pilots with Honda's Variable Torque Management 4WD system (VTM-4) sent most power to the front wheels under normal driving conditions. Under acceleration or if wheel slippage is detected at the front wheels, up to 50% of power can be sent to the rear wheels. The system also features a VTM-4 lock button on the dashboard which locks the rear differential and sends 25% of the power to each rear wheel. However, the VTM-4 lock function only operates in first gear, second gear and reverse, and automatically disengages above 18 mph (29 km/h), then re-engages when the speed drops below 18 mph (29 km/h).

The dashboard is not an issue, those who do upholstery can wrap it with leather.

If it's your only car, you may want to get the pilot. Most mechanics are familiar with them.

Get what you love and maintain it well so you don't get stuck with what you don't like.
Both vehicles are not in same class, so it would be wrong to compare both.

First your mechanic is not a serious one, if he is familiar with nissan cars FX in particular he should know that the abs wheel sensor has no correlation with the speedometer just like toyota cars. He should plug the scanner to car then drive for real information of the speedometer reading. The turbine revolution sensor is attached to the transmission. FX don't use VSS like toyota.
