This is a bungalow. What will the pillars do here? I think the exterior walls and interior partions are good enough to hold the roof. And if you are thinking bracing like you see with a fence sometimes, the interior partitioning breaks down the wall length & should be good enough.

Aventures: The drill used in drilling this borehole was a locally made and pretty fast in drilling and it can go farther than the normal hand drilling. There was a time we had a challenge on borehole drilling in one of our site the first borehole contractor ran away after we have spent close to about 250k because they ve drilled over and over without success. we decided to do a geophysical test and the test recommended we are t drill 330ft to get to aquifer. and the cost was over a million naira. Later this man showed up and boasted he will do it for 250k no body believed him and he sign an agreement for a total refund in case he fails, but to day the rest is a good story 2 years running the borehole is still functioning perfectly well. To God be the Glory.

At all is anything wrong in placing ones water tank say on top of a kitchen decking in a bungalow?
Re: Construction Diary Of A Semi Detached Bungalow At Ikorodu by deleuche(m): 4:56pm On Nov 07, 2013
Aventures: 1. Damp roof admixture (sycallyte) being added to the capping concrete mix.
2. Capping concrete in place to prevent dampness, used to perfect our floor level yet to come and to be used as reference point for measuring out our lintel level and other measuremnts
3.View of the capped area.
4. More view of the capped Area

interesting, I like the use of water proof cement for dpc. but I still have my fears for water tightness of the foundation ie if there is no dpm or water proofing of the floor slab areas.

Also ensure that there is a continuity between the dpc and dpm.

manifest1: At all is anything wrong in placing ones water tank say on top of a kitchen decking in a bungalow?

I don't think there is any problem with that as long as the decking is properly designed to carry the weight of the tank with water and also ensure that it's treated for water leakage and adequate drainage is provided.

I assume u are building on dry land like myself. The beauty of this idea is that the more ur filling stay without Germany floor the better compacting and stronger ur floor.so u may adopt this method by just fill and do German floor later

I am coming late to this thread. @Segcy.moore...can you do your german floor after roofing? (for a bungalow)

Please don't change this topic. Mr. Aventures I say Welldone Sir!!!

Bro, nor be sey I wan turn the thread into politics. Rather it is to highlight how the so-called "progressives" have not addressed the BASIC issues of governance.
If all the politicians are the same, as you wrote above, why should we be expected to praise, honour, adore & even worship those who pretend to be "excellent" when the facts of their performance indicates otherwise

check very well the design makes provision for water closet in the Living room.
The problem i have with the design is that the public areas will suffer natural ventilation and lighting especially the dining.
In thesame vein the design waste too much of spaces.

Talking about building infrastructures, Nigerians have been providing their own power through generators and inverters.

Feeder roads might be an issue in some areas but majority of schools have been upgraded with new ones built, especially secondary, even my alma mater FGS has gotten a new building after been neglected since the 80s. Vocational and technical schools aren't doing bad, and more skill acquisition centers have been built.
As for water, there r various water works around Lagos even in places like Ajangbadi.
Festac where I am has even had the moribund water-works rehabilitated and privatised.
The current administration might not have done all but have done majority and can only do more.

@OP sorry for derailing, just had to correct the pieces of misinformation by anonimi.
What is the overall cost? So that those who plan to build in future will have an idea, thanks.
