Today is good news for Sukhoi.

Algeria placed a purchase order for 14 Su-57Es.

The Algerian Air Force intends to deploy 2 Su-30MKA squadrons and one Su-57E and Su-35 squadron each by 2025. The modernized Su-24M will join the Su-34 squadron.

Apart from Russia, UK, France, Italy, Turkey and Germany, Algeria has a military that is better armed than any in Europe.

there are some factors that is causing the delay of our jf 17 jet..
Come to think of it.we got our Agusta helo before the jf17 but jf 17 has been budgeted for long.. The 184million dollars is Enough already..

Although still early days, the JF-17 Block 3 hasn't lived up to the hype.

No new engine

No new hard points

No increased fuel capacity

With AESA, it can only be rated slightly above the F-16 Block 52.

The JF-17 is clearly not enough to meet our future threats.

We really need to stop at 3 units, instead consider the MIG-35, SU-35, J-10C for our future air needs.

The Tucanos and Attack Helicopters can fulfill our COIN needs.

We should deal the JF17s with China otherwise we and up Pakistans low-budget variant.

[1] Pakistan JF-17 Block I/II Twin seater presented yesterday
[2] China JF-17 Block III Twin seater (aero-dynamical changes at the Tail and conformal fuel tanks CFT that grant greater range)

We've already paid for jets from Pakistan. China should have been our only option with purchasing these jets.

Like I said in a different thread, I don't trust Pakistani QA/QC operations. Besides, Pakistan is only an assembly plant. We should have concentrated on China. Look at the Myanmar planes.

Notwithstanding, the Block III JF-17 from what we've seen is simply not good enough. I was hoping we would get a jet close to the Gripen NG, thoroughly disappointed.

Although these are early days, and more information should come to light soon enough, but I felt we would get something good by now.

The MIG-35 is the best option for us.

Myanmar are mixing the JF-17 and the SU-30MK. They are getting 16 units of JF-17 and 6 units of SU-30MK.

Armenia has taken delivery of 4 units of SU-30SM, small countries.

I just wonder why we didnt buy these jets from the original manufacturer.

The situation in Libya is another reason why we need to invest in proper fighter jets.

GNA in Tripoli is supported by Turkey and Qatar, now you have terrorists moving from Syria paid by Turkey to fight in Libya.

LNA in are supported by France, Italy, UAE, Egypt, Saudi-Arabia, Russian mercenaries, Chadian mercenaries.

The fallout of the war in Libya would hit us like a rocket in Nigeria.
