Lost a childhood friend and a dear business partner to "malaria" this evening.

He has been buying off the counter drugs to treat himself for the past two weeks and just this noon he decided to drive himself to the hospital.

He never returned.
Survived by a 5 month old baby and a wife of 6month.

R.I.P friend. You were a good man.

I just wish everyone learns to go to hospitals for check up regularly. and not wait till things get out of hand.

People should respect the doctors who spend 7-8 years in medical college studying hard to be certified.
Using self medications is totally wrong and should be discouraged.
I do hope we all learn a thing or two from this.

I'm so sorry RR,i don't know how it feel losing a close friend,i know it must b hard,when my bf lost his childhood friend,he cried uncontrollably,so I have an idea how u must feel, the Lord knows best .
It sounds silly bt It's hard for me 2 believe that malaria can kill,

My heart goes out to the family he left behind,i can't imagine how she ll feel.

Malaria is so bad but pple don't know.
Some of the mentaly deranged folks moving up and down r caused by malaria.

During my service year, a fellow corper serving at d same place with me was down with malaria and was self medicating. At a certain time, we started noticing incoherent words from her and she became bonga fish over nite. Luckily for her, d sis she was staying with rushed her to hospital.
When we visited her, she was half way to insanity but she was lucky. I asked d dr I saw around her bed and he said it was celebral malaria. The mosquito specie isn't that much like the commom anopheles mosquito I think. So everyybody tend to grad all as the type u can treat with over d counter drugs.
Our health profs r not helping matters to.
D awareness is very poor.
This particular type killed one nursing mamma under a twinkle of an eye. When she was brought to our house en route hospital, she has to be restrained with chain. Can u imagine that?
Prevention is better than cure o!

Wonderful!

I mean, like seriously! So well scripted and I must say the producers and script writers really raised the bar.

It was such a breath of fresh air, especially without the usual husband snatcher / witchcraft / unbridled violence all to common in Nollywood movies. The end was gripping and I loved it!
