Women & Biological Clock, Men & Economical Clock... What's Fair? by LadyHelga(f): 12:33pm On Oct 04, 2013 |
Graduate from school, capture a man, marry and give birth....these are words that fly around more frequently around a girl once she clocks 20....all thanks to.... Le almighty biological clock! You see this clock is probably the most ruthless ever as, it has put a lot of young women under pressure and facilitated their giving up on their dreams, to obey the societal-invented biological clock. Personally,i think the concept is not all wrong if a girl has the right self-esteem and common sense to set her priorities right, however, i kinda ponder on why men are not shown the way of this clock. Granted that at a certain age, child-bearing might not come easy for women and loneliness might be an issue but hey, give the women a break. A Girl starts schooling, graduate, makes money, is expected to marry and possibly drop children before 30...... What is said about the guys? They are allowed to take so much time that sometimes at 35, dude aint dreaming of marriage yet, however, no one is telling them a certain clock exists which is equally ruthless, the Economical clock. This clock is quite deceptive and has put a lot of men in confusion in their later lives....take for a instance, a guy marries at 35, has a child, if lucky at 36, At the time the child is 20, dude is close to 60. If the man isn't a millionaire, be sure H.B.P will arise as retirement approaches. That is for a lucky dude, others still wait for years for children, and the frustration increases. Besides at an advanced age, how viable is a man and with the lower life expectancy of men, 6-ft is closer to men than women. So people while we scream biological clock, scream economical clock as well. Decisions should be made early as Fertility, marriage desirability and economical viability falls as the years go by....my opinion though, what's your take on the matter? |

The biological clock is actually real for African women who consider marrying and giving birth a priority... The economic clock is also real becos African men are supposed to work their a'r se off while the wife stays at home doing nothing... Fortunately, things re now changing, everyone woman must not marry, there is no rule that say a woman has to marry to be useful.... You can adopt if you want a baby, u must not give birth before you can be a mother... Look at condoleeza rice... Also, a man must not be the one who does evrytin for the family, women now work and can assist.. There re women that are richer than their husbands... The world is changing. 1 Like |

@Kolidave, we will marry by choice but the biological clock mindset must be addressed so the guys running around would grow up and be responsible...the women are expected to do a lot while the guys are overly shielded.,the results are Overgrown babies. |

OP i agree with you. Men should be more worried imo about this economical clock, especially since our society places more pressure of child welfare on them. It's good however that women now work and contribute to the financial needs of the family. Everyone need to set their priorities: Make your money, find a spouse, make babies and still have enough 'life' in you to struggle and train them. We live in a dynamic economy which means predicting changes is quite difficult since each individual factors are dynamic as well. So while the ladies are screaming biological clock, them dudes need to keep Eco-watch. Even your millions in the bank may not be sufficient in your old age with children and relatives to cater for if the value of our naira keeps falling. 2 Likes |
