Ekweremadu said something salient.

Police HQTrs was attacked in IG's convoy, the IG was not sacked

7 Crashes and Near accidents under one Aviation Minister and nobody was sacked except Demurin who actually descended on those who failed to do their Duty at NCAA.

What is Bamanga Tukur doing in PDP chair by now?

How do we see Police Commisioner Mbu in Rivers State?

Who has gone to jail for even proven Public Fund (Govt money !!) thru EFCC?

If not for OBJ, how many of the Leaders dare arrest, prosecute (and pursue) or jail anybody in Govt.

What is Anenih still doing in GOvt. circle after OBJ sacked him form Ministry of Works for 'jeunjeun' or 'chop-I-chop'

CORRUPTION IS NOT OUR PROBLEM, IT IS OUR BREAD ...... How do we punish corruption and incompetence of those in POWER?

When you try it and you see the millions of people who benefit under this 'huruhuru' arrangement, you will keep shut !!!

ASK The SILVA integrity Group in Bayelsa or The ODILI vanguard in Rivers. What of The Ibori Trusts Association or is it the BABANGIDA Boys?

Bliss4Lyfe: Haba if it is not Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, it is diezani alison-madueke or Stella Odua.

Yorubas should control themselves or die of high blood pressure. They still have another 20years before they will smell Aso 2Rock again.

Stella Odua is the best Aviation Minister this country has ever produced and any attempt by bigotted yoruba to discount her

transformation agenda in the aviation sector has failed.

THE MINISTRY:

The Nigerian Federal Ministry of Aviation is a ministry of the Nigerian Government that regulates air travel and aviation services in Nigeria. The ministry is responsible for formulation and management of the government's aviation policies in Nigeria. It is directly responsible for overseeing air transportation, airport development, maintenance, provision of aviation infrastructural services and other needs. The ministry is headed by a Minister appointed by the President, assisted by a Permanent Secretary, who is a career civil servant. The Ministry is responsible for parastatals such as the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology.

VISION:
To be the best Aviation Industry in Africa and one of the best in the world

MISSION:
To build a safe, secured and efficient aviation industry focused on making Nigeria a hub that meets International Standards and Best Practices for the African continent

Parastatals under the Federal Ministry of Aviation

1. To start with, you people reason like elementary school kids, NCAA is not a foreign agency to the minister, NCAA is under her ministry meaning she is responsible for the actions of the NCAA.

2. She is directly responsible for overseeing air transportation, airport development, maintenance, provision of aviation infrastructural services and other needs as stated on her website and the federal republic of Nigeria's website.

Do you know the meaning of DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE?

It doesn't matter how disgusting and desperate she pushes off accountability or how you internet olodo spin this issue, she s still directly responsible as the minister of aviation and as the supreme head of the NCAA itself.

When your workers do good, you take the credit because they are your workers and when things go bad, you take the blame equally. Trying to shove off her responsibility was a bitchasss move and bad leadership on her part.

To further highlight the absurdity and silliness behind your dumb rants.

Under the NCAA itself, we have Directorate of Airworthiness Standards (DAWS) a sub department responsible for airworthiness under the NCAA, so what if the head of the NCAA you are gunning for pull the same card by saying he's not responsible and the blame should go to the Directorate of Airworthiness Standards (DAWS) because it's their job to physically check the planes and make sure they are airworthy?

tawa89: The DG of NCAA Fola Akin should resign immediately, NCAA is an institution charged with the responsibility of maintaining the safety of our airspace. NCAA is an institution that is expected to carry out it's functions regardless of who the minister is and Fola Akin should take responsibility for this air mishap and tender his resignation.

Afam4eva:
This even further exonerates the Minister of Aviation. I thought the Minister is the one who appoints the NCAA boss.

Who is this Fola Akinkuotu that licensed the plane to fly in the first place, that nobody wants to talk about?

I just want to know how the resignation of the Minister will solve the problem of NCAA licensing a sick plane to fly.
Wasn't this the same NCAA the Minister have been sanitizing and you guys called her a bigot?
Going by the argument that if a mishap happen in a ministry the Minister and not those responsible should resign,

Then the Inspector General of Police must resign for his boys killing people everywhere.
The Minister of works must resign because the roads in Nigeria have been killing people.
The Minister of Internal Affairs should resign because Boko Haram have been killing people.
Minister of trade should resign because we don't get enough dollar input into our economy and many live on less than $1 day.
The Minister of Agriculture should resign because many Nigerians are dying of hunger.
Infact, oga Jona should resign for because Tinubu and co are making Nigeria ungovernable.
ALL the Senators must resign because they have not passed PIB and cost Nigeria a whopping N150 billion to maintain.

Una see how ridiculous una suggestion gets, instead of punishing the culprit that licensed the plane to fly, una wan play politics to pin it on someone else, simply because she is a minister in that Ministry and una no like her?

The million dollar question: if as alleged by the #proStellateam, Fola Akinkuotu, NCAA safety arrowhead was responsible for licencing the ill-fated AA "test flight" did he need and got clearance from a higher authority?
If Yes, what was this clearance premised on:
a) the plane was okay, take my Word for It?
b) documented proof of air worthiness?
c) whatever did he show to this higher authority to get the go-ahead?
d) is It possible as alleged that all parties were in on a take and looked the other way in the Hope of a safe landing - making a killing on a "test flight". One bed two Stone scenario?
e) perhaps this happens very often and we never get to hear of the insider dealings during safe commercial test flights?
What Would a forward corruption-fighting nation do?

Religion and Tribe truly are demons that attack the real human mind with blindness. Think about it bros, I know you now, wetin come happen...obu zi kwa ngi... na wao
Are you aware that apart from NCAA, there are other sub-agencies that fall under the purview of the Aviation ministry. SO. it's not only Jonathan that has so many ministries to oversee. Commonsense dictates that if a particular sub-section of a ministry or agency is not living up to expectation, you take it out on the person directly involved in that sub-section and if it persists, you can take it out on the person at the top echelon which in this case will be the ministers. But fortunately or unfortunately, the minister is not responsible for the appointment of the NCAA boss and if anything the blame should rest on the person that appoints him before the Aviation minister.

That is a very daft post and I think you acknowledge that in your own head.

Have you read the article that the OP quoted? I guess not!

97% of the Senators that have called for the resignation of your ibo sister are not Yorubas but PDP and Labour senators from the North and the SE.

That being said, do you automatically presume that every criticism of any ibo Minister is an attack on your land and your ethnicity? In a sane world, people provide evidence to negate and controvert any opinion that they think is false instead of being defensive. Instead, what we have been subjected to on this thread is the usual herd mentality and inferior complex demonstrated by a lot vitriol and diatribe directed towards Yorubas.

It got so bad that some ibos attacked a fellow ndigbo who dared to oppose the general umuibo consensus of the vilification of Yorubas. A particular poster-Berem was called every name under the sun because she vehemently disagreed with some ibo posters today and yet the attackers are still posting without any penalty.

Stella Oduah has questions to answer whether you like it or not. As a Minister, she is directly responsible for her department; if there are any identified failures, she has to explain the reasons why this is the case. Every government role has its advantages but also it comes with responsibilities- do you know what that means?

If she feels that it is the fault of the NCAA, fairplay to her but she has to express that herself and explain to the representatives of the Nigerian nation in the Senate why she thinks that she should not be held to account for the consistent failures in a department where she has been appointed to oversee. It is just like a company declaring a net loss and the CEO goes to the AGM and blames the GM in charge of Finance for the inability of shareholders to get dividends on their shares.

Surely, she does not need the advise of faceless arm chair internet bigots to defend herself.

Urine: I've read all the comments and one thing is certain, Nigeria won't be great anytime soon, ethnic loyalty has clouded people's judgement. Even if you must defend Stella on this issue why must it be based on ethnicity? When the United States talked about this country splitting by 2015, they knew what they were saying.

It's now a tough task to have an intelligent argument, it seems most people don't have brians again.

Come on!!! dude, Stella has so many parastatals and agencies under her watch if that is your argument. Don't tell me she is supposed to inspect the planes herself. She has people like the NCAA boss to handle that agency.

If you discredit the argument that GEJ be impeached cos of this air mishap, then your argument in calling for Stella's sack does not hold water.

No, she is not supposed to inspect the planes herself but when the NCAA boss failed to do his work, she should blame him not God! Because she failed to recognise the mistake of the NCCA boss, she should be fired for ignorance and incompetence. @gregtochi, this is her thought behind the call for her resignation. The NCAA boss is equally not free from the same judgement. It is clear that Stella Oduah does not understand the implication of her comment: Accident is an act of God....when the plane which was supposed to be grounded found its way to the sky! Who was she protecting with that unfortunate comment, the NCAA boss? Think again and see where she implicated herself as the overall authority. Nobody would talk to the NCAA boss because he has a boss in Stella Oduah. Reason with me and see how she ignorantly put herself on the judgement seat.

Bros.. How do you think the aviation industry flight certification works? So you think its every take-off and landing that the Authorities will run out and start examining the aircrafts?

I don't know so I'm asking you?

I think there are standard routine inspections that must be done every X hours of filght time and there must be a standard checklist that they look at.

An aircraft is made up of a thousands of parts and I doubt they can check every one per flight. I have seen NTSB reports where the cause of a crash was a single loose screw in a hard to see part of the plane.. One I saw about an asian plane was a loose screw that was inside the tail rudder. Normally after a crash, all parties involved in the manufacture of the aircraft send reps to investigate the cause of the crash and if its a mechanical or electrical fault, they send iut a memo to everyone operating those same planes to check that part of their plane for any abnormality and in some cases they change that part on all planes..

All airlines grounded their A380 airbuses that were using General electrics engines after the Quantas airline blew the engines on one of theirs. Not all air misharps should be blamed on negligence of the minister.

Causes of a crash range from human error to mechanical failure to unsuitable natural ooccurences like lightening..

All we Ndi igbos are saying is if you can't fire Stella until you prove that she was complicit in some way for the cause of the crash assuming it was caused by corner cutting.

Feyi Agagu reported he noticed a visible CRACK on the plane b4 take off and he quickly told Femi Akintunde to pray with him. Please go find out the implication of a crack on a plane, that plane cannot gather enough power to fly any higher, it loses control and crashes.
